Jobs for a business grad
Im 23 and have an associates degree in business management, and im slowly working on the bachelors (though i doubt ill finish it). Im starting to wish I had gone to school for something less general. That may sound strange, not wanting a lot of opportunities, but I really don't know what to look for. I find jobs and have interviews that don't always work out, but most aren't what I want to do. What specific jobs could/should I look for that pay well for what I have?
I have been working since I was 15 and that includes 3 grocery stores, an office temp job for experience, and a specimen tech for a drug testing facility (a lot of data entry and regulations). I recently had an interview with Vanguard (online stock trading) for a processing associate which would have been $18 an hour about with the early morning shift but it's been two weeks and I haven't heard back yet (yes i called and emailed). a compressed schedule too, 4 10hour days. anything else like that?

Finish your bachelors. It'll make you look a lot better.

My friend just graduated with his bachelors in business management and got a job right away with MetLife insurance, he's gonna be selling insurance or something and working on commission.

Yea, if it's a full time position. Of course, not ALL employers require it... but A LOT of high paying/quality positions do. They'll ask about it during an interview, and may even require proof of the diploma after the job offer.
If you've already started working your way towards one, why quit now? Believe it or not, it's extremely valuable.

It is unlikely that you will ever be required to provide proof.

A friend of mine works for a company that does the background checks for other companies looking to hire people and they actually do call the school and verify that you have the degree you say you do.
There is of course no guarantee that the company you interview with will do this, but it's possible.

Re: Jobs for a business grad
I work at a bank and I have a year left for a bachelor's in business administration. I work with people who have only a HS diploma, some college, and then various degrees. My advice is to finish up with your bachelor's because it can help open a lot of doors. Some companies don't really require a degree, but a degree will help you get your foot in the door, along with some good experience. This is where I recommend something where you can get some business experience and at least start thinking more on the right track of things (maybe a bank?). Or, you could get an engineering degree or something like that if you're wanting something more specific. Industrial engineering is a nice blend of things. It's sort of hard to answer your question because I don't really know what you strive to become. Hope this helps.

Re: Jobs for a business grad
You're the business major.... Didn't they teach you all of this in college?
Get a job doing something you enjoy.
