Default Big painful blisters on toes

Yesterday I took a really high dose of DXM and I don't remember much of what happened. I did walk around and run around a lot but I have no idea how I caused this to happen since my other foot is fine.

However, I have blisters on two of my toes and some skin peeled off at the nail of the other one. I popped the blisters on both toes but they seemed to go down very deep to the red fleshy part of the toe so basically, it was skin deep. This is especially true for one of my toes which in which the blister was extremely deep and I actually couldn't remove all of the skin from the blister because some of it goes under the nail and I don't want to rip that out.

Anyway, now I am really worried. Should I go to see a doctor or do you think it can just heal?

I don't have a digital camera but I found a picture similar to my toe on google. The difference is that I (stupidly) ripped the skin off of mine. I feel like a fucking idiot for doing that too.

Edit: Also, I noticed that more liquid is constantly coming out of the hole... It appears to be clear. Is it pus?

Looks like something has hit your toe hard, either by something falling on it, of you hitting it on something like a door or wall.

probably pus. Slather some neosporin on it every couple of hours. If it doesn't improve in a couple of days or if it starts really swelling up or spreading further down go see a doctor asap

I get blisters like that whenever I run anything over 5 or 6km, its because my feet slide forward in my shoes and my toes press against the end of my shoe.

Obviously, it'll heal on its own. You likely just got them from running around, especially if you werent wearing good shoes to be doing it in.

Also, as you've already noticed, dont peel the skin off blisters, its there for a reason; to keep whatever was rubbing from doing so on the tender skin below, and to keep infection out of that skin aswell.

Oh, and if the liquid is clear, dosent stink, and the area isnt really inflamed its likely not pus. Its the same stuff that fills the blister before you peeled the skin off. I cant remember exactly but for all intents and purposes its alot like simple saline, salt water, tears.

I still agree on the polysporin bit though.

Get some thicker socks so they 'fill out' the shoe, i use standard army issue black socks that you get issued on joining the military, these are thick, heavy duty and last for ever, no room for foot movement in shoe then which in turn no blister, provided your shoes are the right size and frame for your running style.

Or just tape up the prone areas with zinc oxide tape.

It'll heal.
like Sentinel owl says, keep some neosporin on it.
Thicker socks may help, like southernsun says.
Make sure your shoes are spacious.
