I'm looking for info on Iceolation (sp?) for dried poppy pods. I've tried googling it many times, problem is I don't even know if thats how you spell it, or whatnot...I've got a questionable batch and i'd like to get rid of as much of the inactive ingredients as possible

any help?

I thought the Ice-O-lator was for hash? There are many different extractions for P. somniferum but I have not heard of the Ice-o-lator being used for the poppies.

they really do not taste that bad why bother with all that?

i just grind them up to a powder mix it with cold water and drink it down like a bad protein shake, i find surprisingly it tastes better than making a tea out of it even and quick. you lose no alkaloids and i don't know of anyone so far who's gotten nauseous from it.

Using the same technique wouldn't make any difference, because with hash the trichomes fall to the bottom of the container and get collected, and with poppies the opiates get dissolved in the water. However, using cold water would probably lead to a cleaner overall product as opiates are highly water soluble. Using hot water is not necessary for complete extraction and would lead to more crap being in the final product. Try dumping your pods in cold water for an hour, stirring occasionally, filter through a t-shirt and you should have a decent extract. I don't know if evaporating the water at a low temp and smoking/vaping the residue would have any opium-like effects, maybe someone here's tried it. If it won't work, just drink the water and get high. :)
