type 1 diabetes and heroin
does having type 1 diabetes make it any more dangerous to try sniffing some dope? iv never tried it but was considering snorting a tiny bit, and needed to know if having type 1 diabetes would make it more dangerous than normal use. this is for a friend of mine btw, not me. thanks totse

Re: type 1 diabetes and heroin
Well, it'd certainly make it more dangerous to eat large, starchy meals before couchlock - you're probably not going to get up to prick your finger every few minutes while you're deeper in the land of nod than anyone has ever gone before...
...but, assuming there are no additional type II complications (dopamine release changes insulin sensitivity, even when that insulin is skin-popped), and as long as your friend's not using the shortest-acting form of insulin avaliable, I'd imagine it might be manageable. Sorta like sleep...

Rofl! Why do you always write such vividly detailed, mystical posts like that? I love you man, I really do.
But seriously, who the fuck do you think you are? Jesus?
Actually, if you do claim to be Jesus or some other God-related entity, I just might believe you. >_>

Hey, I would totally do it, too.
Of course, if it was a choice between Joe and Benjamin Yahtzee Sebastion Godzilla Croshaw, I would have to go with Ben. :o
Sorry, Joe.

Re: type 1 diabetes and heroin
It shouldn't be a problem.
Though that's not to say that it won't be a problem.

Sorry, Joe.
No worries. Myself, I don't know who he is, but I'd give him analingus on the name alone. :D

HAHAHAHAHAHA
guess no one knows abour complications? one guy mentioned stuff about type 2 dibetes but thats a very different disease.
how dangerous is it to getting hooked? or going too far into the land of not and stop breathing or choke on my vomit? its supposed to be "shootable quality" h, for 40 a half gram, is that a good deal? he just wants to try it once ( well a few tiumes till iut runs out) then never buy again. do u hav to hva strong will power to only use this casually and not develop a habit? i dont particularly like opiates that much anyway, so im hoping i wont like it to much. thanks for all relevants replies so far

Re: type 1 diabetes and heroin

Oy, crap.
Well, heroin isn't my specialty... but 'wid gives the duration of intramuscular/subcutaneous injection at about 3-5 hours (about an hour longer than smoked/snorted/IV)...
...and novalog is listed as the shortest duration of insulin on the chart, at about... 3-5 hours. It'd probably be better to switch to one of the varieties other than "very short acting" under doctor's supervision, but otherwise... it looks like you'd basically have to do them at the same time.
Alternately - especially considering the closeness on the timeline and the choice of insulin variants - it might be better to have a sitter stab them with a glucose monitor from time to time and act accordingly. Or, switch to novalin 70/30 for that 18-24 hour coverage. ;)
