Microwaving mushrooms
So I have some dry shrooms, but I opened my bag yesterday and there were a few moth/fly type things in there, so quite clearly I need to kill these bastards and any eggs they have laid. So I've thought and thought about the problem and asked others, and someone came to the conclusion of nuking them for small amounts of time to kill the shitty fly things and any eggs.
However, will this damage the shrooms or potency? I'm guessing it will a bit, but would it be noticable?
If not, any other ideas on how to get rid of infestations?

Re: Microwaving mushrooms
I don't know to what extent, but psilocybin is heat sensitive, although not as much as LSD. I'd just chuck them, cos there could be fuck knows what disease carried by the little bastards. If you do want to still keep them, maybe try a psilocybin extraction? The solvent(s) used in the process would kill any bugs in your stash.
Don't know if this would work, but you could powder the shrooms up in a coffee grinder, store the shroom powder in an airtight glass jar, and stick loads of silica gel sachets (or another dessicant) in the jar. Maybe the lack of moisture would dry out and kill the bugs, without affecting potency?

I've read that the flies only live on shrooms so are clean and harmless compared to other flies.
I've decided I'm just going to chuck some of those sachets of silica gel in my bag to absorb any moisture and dehydrate the fuckers to death.
Edit: lol saw your edit after I posted.

Your dealer sold you contaminated shrooms. He has shroom nats. Take them back to him and get a refund.
4-oh-dmt gets fucked up from energy, as there are a few points where the bond dissociation energy is really low. Microwaves produce a lot of energy, so don't do it.

Yea the microwave idea was really bad. But I can't take them back cos I can't be arsed with shipping them back to the company and they probably won't accept them anyway.
My new idea is to put them in the freezer overnight to kill the moths and any eggs [hopefully].

Re: Microwaving mushrooms
Even though it's nasty, I think your stomach acid will kill them all. Not much can survive in that environment.
However, if you're still grossed out about it...
Sell them to someone else?
For future reference, ALWAYS closely inspect the drugs you buy. It will come in handy many times.

sounds like your shrooms are fucked up pretty badly.
BEST BE SURE TO handle with care next time.

Re: Microwaving mushrooms
I can't believe nobody has said this yet...
Microwaves work by rotating water molecules and producing heat. If your shrooms are dry there's no water to speak of on them (save perhaps a bit in the eggs), and no heat will come off.
Soak them in alcohol, or just fucking eat them, there's really nothing physically harmful about eating flies or fly eggs.
