Last night i was talking to this girl, she's one of my best friends best friend and she was pissed at about how this guy is treating my best friend. We talked for a few hours and she remembered something.

A few weeks ago they were talking and she told my friend that she was thinking about cutting and my friend told her that "it's perfectly normal, i do it sometimes too."

I'm really worried and i'm gonna go check up on her today in a few hours when she gets home from work, i don't really know where to check her for scars?

If anyone has cut here before, where did you do it and what made you stop?

DONT tell me to tell her she's a dumb cunt and leave her alone because i can't do that to someone. I know she would be there for me and i gotta make sure i'm there for her too.

Should i just walk into her room and tell her to sit down? ask her if she ever cut and ask to see her arms and legs and stuff?

I really don't know how i'm gonna do this or how i'm gonna react if i find any scars so i really need some help here

Wrists are the first place to check. Anywhere else is probably going to be too difficult to check at a glance.

Really, I liken cutting to self-medicating with drugs. Similar. With drugs, you can't handle the pain so you get high. With cutting, you replace the pain with something physical.

She should probably see a shrink about it. Worth whatever her co-pay is (assuming she has medical insurence).

And there's nothing you can do to help her except be there for her. You can't pull someone up, they have to do that themselves. I would confront her about it though. She isn't going to just tell you.

Drugs are rarely about pain. Drugs make a good thing better. They don't cause as much dependency if they're used recreationally. Cutting is more akin to alcoholism. Find out how you'd treat someone who drinks his problems away, then replace drinking with cutting.

I would check her wrists, upper arms (where sleeves would normally cover), and upper thighs to start. But why not just ask her? Whether she does it isn't really anyone's business. If she doesn't want to say just let her know you're there to help without being nagging.
