I always just assumed that if you roll a filter into a joint it wont get you baked, that explained why people always use a roach.

Today, i absentmindedly rolled a joint(baby, not king) with a filter. I lit it up anyway, and it got me just as cained as i was expecting it too.

So what i'm asking, is does the filter affect it for better or worse in anyway?

it does effect it because the molecules are going though a filter so not all of them are getting to your lungs. maybe it only effects it a tiny amount, but when has that ever been worth the risk.

It doesn't make the slightest bit of difference, only you might think you're not getting as high due to the filter.

A filter only filters out some tar and shit, nicotine molecules still get through when you smoke cigs, so all the cannabinoid molecules also get through when you're smoking a joint.

Yes, but not all the nicotine molecules get through. Ever tried smoking a cig with out a filter? Notice how much of a head rush you get?
And THC is inherently sticky, it sticks to everything (the inside of your bong, other bits of weed inside a joint). Thats why smoking roachs gets you so blazed, because of the cannabinoid build up at the end of the joint. All the smoke passes though the end, so thats where the most tar and cannabinoids are.

So if THC readily sticks to anything, why would we not assume that its sticks to the cotton filter? Some will still obviously pass through, but not the same amount as if there was no wad of cotton at the end of the joint. Maybe the reason you got as baked as you were expecting was cause you had really good weed.

I don't know anything about filters but I notice when I empty the tobacco out of a smoke and fill it with weed, I don't get nearly the hauls / stone-age I get with a joint.

I no longer put weed in my smokes. Thank god.

Yeah, filers do not have any kind of significant, or atleast noticeable effect on the quantity of cannabinoids getting into your lungs. If you are really paranoid about it, cut the filter in half and use it. I have smoked literally hundreds of joints over the years both filtered and unfiltered, and I can tell you that there is no noticeable difference between the two.

wat kind of filter did you use, like a cig filter? It will absorb some of the of the THC and get you less high. i always just put a piece of cardboard from a busienss card (rolled up) so it stops the bud form comign through but not doesnt filter the smoke. I do the same with blunts.

Just doesn't seem right.

I have done it once in the name of science and there was no difference at all in how stoned I got, it was just really weird to roll it with a filter, and smoke it with a filter. Although with all the contaminated shite going around in England it'd probably be wise to use a filter.
