Amanita and San pedro question..
Well first of all i looked up how to prepare amanitas pretty much says chuck it in an oven with the door cracked on the lowest setting till dry, powder it and make tea with it. is it really that straight forward?? Do i need to take the warts off them first or it doesnt matter?
Amanitas growin round here : http://s25.photobucket.com/albums/c68/w0ggy/?action=view¤t=DSC00706.jpg
And dont flame saying get real muchrooms im just tryin somethin new =) .
And my san pedro question is :
Theres a fuckload of them and they are huge ( about 5-6m ) we tryd using a little one that was about 1.5-2m but it didnt work properly so my friend suggested it wasnt old enough. So my plan is.. to chop down one of those big ones and take the very top of it and use that.
Would this work better? ill take some pics of this big one tommorow or something.

Re: Amanita and San pedro question..
The age of the San Pedro won't have anything to do with the potency AFAIK, it's just a matter of eating enough to make you trip. Did you brew up the flesh or just eat it raw?
If you have access to that much free cactus, you might want to consider mescaline extraction.

Re: Amanita and San pedro question..
Yeah i was just reading up on it on erowid.. i dunno cause i know peyote has to be pretty old till its mature enough to use. We boiled it, my friend said it was meant to go really soft n sticky but it didnt. We cut it into little slices though and i just read that youre supposed to chuck it in a blender =/.
Hate when you listen to people that say they know what theire doing..
When we tipped out the pot we didnt wash it, and there were small traces of white powder inside the pot... That wouldnt of been mescaline though would it?
Step 1: Aqueous Extraction
--------------------------------------------------------------------------------
First, you need to prepare a "tea" from your cacti. If using dried cactus, powder it. If using fresh cactus, chop it to small pieces and then puree it in a blender. At this point, it is a good idea to weigh your cactus and record the weight. This will be helpful further on in the process. Put the cactus in your stainless steel pot and cover with just enough water to make a soup. Add some acid to make the pH of the soup fairly acidic. If using citric acid, you want to add about 3 grams per liter of water. Boil the cactus about 20 minutes. If you use sufficiently acidic water, there is no need to boil longer than this. After boiling, strain out the cactus chunks (the marc) and save the liquid. You want to do three acidic water extractions on the cactus. Combine the 3 liquids and toss the marc on your compost pile or dispose of it in some other non-wasteful manner. If the volume of liquid you have is large, you may want to boil it down to a more managable quantity.
Would making the water more acidic really change the boiling time from 4-6 hours to 20 mins? well an hour if you have to do it 3 times..

Hit up your local Bunnings. They should carry both, both from Digger's, 500g of NaOH for $5.00, $17-20 for 1L xylly.
