So, I guy I know wants to bring me some GBL in the form of chrome polisher from London in August. Is he likely to get "caught" with it at the airport, and if so what sort of shit is he looking at. I know its a schedule VI here, but I'm uncertain what the practical risk might be. There are some other fairly harmless stuff in that category as well. Any thoughts?

Yeah that's an option. I'm just wondering what the likelyhood of trouble is if he brings it. The stuff is sold in a spray bottle, like Febreeze or something. I imagine it would be an odd thing to explain as gift.

I don't really see them freaking out to much since it's legal in the UK, I would guess they would probably just take it away and warn him.

Is it flammable? They might be more worried about him bringing something like that on a plane.

I'd still send it through the mail though theres no sense taking unecessary chances no matter how slim the odds are of getting caught.

If he's taking it through an airport, well.... they might think it's GHB in liquid form, which is a class C drug, and thus he could be arrested.

GBL is corrosive and not very nice, if anyone "tasted" it, they would know something was up... his best bet is to try and find a corrosive-resistant vessel like laboratory chemicals are kept in. Most GBL bought legally should be in one.... just peel the label off and hope for the bloody best, if you're gona take the risk in an airport (don't forget it mustn't be in your hand luggage, too....).

Definitely just try having it mailed to Canada by express mail or something, chances are it'll get through.

If you're planning on using it for purposes aside from alloy cleaning or whatever, be damn careful with the stuff, because you must know what you're doing. It's easy to pass out from it, and the addiction potential (to GHB/GBL) is there, n very unpleasant.
