Dating a ftm Transgender.
Anybody have experience with this? (s)he is cute, funny, smart...and wishes he was a boy. (Little Asian person, just so you have some mental image.)
I've never really considered myself gay or anything before (Well, maybe a little bi. Made out with a male RA once, when I was drunk. Good kisser.), but the idea of having a "boyfriend" is both difficult to get used to and strangely refreshing.
Whatever. Gender is a societal construct anyway. I'll fuck (and by this I mean have a meaningful relationship with) whoever I want to, regardless of sex, gender, age, race, creed, or hair color.
Anybody else having fun discovering new things about their sexuality? Anybody?
P.S. At least I'm not fucking highliters.

Re: Dating a ftm Transgender.
If you wanna fuck men that's totally fine.
But don't end your post with a sentiment like that, that's like admitting you're doing something wrong (in your own eyes) when you have to pre-emptively defend yourself. Respect yourself!
And also, gender's are NOT a construct of society!!!
No matter what the feminazis tell you. Men and women are different.
And most of that difference is in the brain!
Yes, I said it.
Our brain's work way differently and respond to different hormones in different ways.
So don't come here with newage bullshit about genders being societal constructs.

Well, let's be clear about our terms here: SEX is fact. Dudes have dicks, ladies do not, brains are different, yadda yadda.
GENDER, however, is ridiculous - who says guys should have to date girls or wear pants or etc, and vice versa?
And the highliter bit was a joke. I know totse too well to now expect some awful things to be said in response to this post. I was trying to diffuse some of that.

I had a strong image of that pear with teeth that says 'whut' when I read your rationale?
I don't understand what you are trying to say...
So, an individual with female parts, believes herself to be male.
You, a male, wish to court said individual.
Your asking if this is gay?
...
Only if you make eye contact.

Re: Dating a ftm Transgender.
Right lets settle this. Gender is NOT a product of society. However it IS far far more than what dangly bits you have. Infact its fair to say that what genitals you have are the least important marker.
OP, discovering and coming to terms with new aspects of your sexuality is part of growing up and maturing .
If you love and desire the person than thats all that matters.
On a general note, dating a tranny-any sort- is hard hard work and will require you to step and be a man a lot.
Learning to box is an advantage. Although luckily FTM trannys suffer a lot less abuse than MTF.

Honor to have you in my thread, Mr. Ketch. I am a fan of your work.
Now: Care to explain how gender is not a product of societal and "moral" codification? From wikipedia (the best of sources!):
"Although gender is commonly used interchangeably with sex, within the social sciences it often refers to specifically social differences, known as gender roles in the biological sciences. Historically, feminism has posited that many gender roles are socially constructed, and lack a clear biological explanation. People whose gender identity feels incongruent with their physical bodies may call themselves transgender or genderqueer."

Your quote is confused. Gender roles are to a large extent IMO socially constructed. Gender isn't.
Gender (so I'm told by my more scienctific tranny friends) goes all the way down to the molecular.

You know, I just wasn't sure I could give it the go ahead without Jesus on my side.

Your asking if this is gay?
No. I was asking if other people had experience and saying I don't particularly give a shit if its gay.
Also - already am dating said individual. No wishing.
Oh, and to Ketch - What part of the country are you in? Here in Southern California, most people are pretty understanding.

Norfolk.
And here its got better since the days when my best friend was pre op but its still very redneck. She was once beaten to a pulp (nearly lost an eye) for being 'queer'.

Hmm. Well, a cursory search of Google for "sex and gender" leads me to believe this is a pretty ongoing debate, so I guess we'll just have to agree to disagree (god, I hate that phrase. anyway.). Minor issue, regardless.
Also, the term "scientific tranny friends" made me chuckle. Isn't it a beautiful age we live in?
Norfolk.

Jesus, man. That's harsh. I can't say I'm a good fighter by any means, but if anybody tried that shit on J, I'd fuck them up. Luckily (sort of), Santa Barbara is probably the most heavily policed city (per sq mile) in socal. Fucking rich people.
Regardless, it won't happen. He's not very obviously gay or tranny - super girly, in fact. Which cracks me up.

LOL its called "Over Compensating" ie she's spend most of her life trying to be a girl even though she knows she isn't.
Hadn't thought about it before or rather I hadn't realised it applied to FTM as well as MTF before.
My tranny MTF who got beaten up so bad was the epitome of testosterone maleness...a soldier, 6'4", so hard you could roller skate on him, 12 pints a night and fuck anything in a skirt.
Guess the same goes for FTM.
Next time I meet a blond Girly-Girly with Rick Ashley on her Ipod and a laura ashley dress on then I shall wonder...maybe the reason she keeps staring at my package ain't because she wants it in her but ON!

I'm sorry, Mr. Dictionary says otherwise:
http://dictionary.reference.com/browse/gender
But I understand what you want to say. Gender is only as much a societal construct as race, age or... species.
If society didn't exist, gender still would.

Uhm way to misunderstand a compliment, girl! Maybe its different in Canada but here in the UK to describe a girl as having balls is a GOOD thing.

Is she on testosterone or anything? Or is she just a girl who feels she was meant to be a guy or something?
I know you said she's FTM, but the way you describe it... it really doesn't seem like she's that... M.

He's not that male - I think that's why I'm so attracted in the first place. Said he'd start testosterone treatment within the year (I'll be back at college by that time anyway, so finding out whether or not I could deal with that is something that will have to wait). But yes, a girl who self-identifies as a guy.
I asked him the other day - response was something like "think of me as your super gay guy friend. I know I'm really girly."
So there you go.
