I've heard lots of people say certain drugs counteract the hallucinations you have when your coming down from a heavy amphetamine binge. What types of drugs do this? Is it generally drugs that inhibit the CNS that will alleviate hallucinations?

Swim likes the visual hallucinations and all that but he's heard stories of people getting permanent psychosis after heavy speed binges so he wants to minimize the risk of that happening. Swim does go mildly delusional sometimes thinking police are after him or people are creeping around his house and crap like that when he's badly sleep deprived. Swim also hears voices from time to time and although its funny at the time he's glad they go away when he gets some sleep.

Anyone else have any info on amphetamine psychosis and ways to counteract it? Is it just a myth that some people get stuck with it even after they get some sleep?

Look into it, haldol is win for your problem. I make sure to keep a few around just for situations like sleep deprivation psychosis, or to end a hellish trip early, though not really for me, more for other people who might not be able to handle a trips intensity. It's a last resort for that though, the last thing I want to do is END a trip, the point is to help people work through it, not end it. Usually, just knowing that it is available if needed is enough to calm people down and bring them a bit closer back to reality.

If you want to sleep take some muscle relaxers and smoke some weed, or one of the two.

I can never sleep on heroin. I fall asleep, and wake up a few minutes later ALWAYS without fail. Fuck that shit.

I never understood the allure of amp binges. The story's always the same: "Dude, I got so fucked up, I cleaned my entire house! After that, I thought the cops were chasing me, but I couldn't go to sleep and get my head straight! It was GREAT!"

Thanks stupid noob I'll look into that haldol stuff. I've heard the word before but only on the internet I doubt any of my friends have any. I'll look into that risperdal stuff too. I didn't even know there were drugs to counteract bad psychedelic trips but yeah it would be a plus having some lying around just in case it gets outta hand. Bad psychedelic trips (shrooms and acid at least) aren't much fun but at least you know your tripping thats not the case when your sleep deprived if you KNEW you were delusional you wouldn't be having delusions. Sometimes I'm positive that theres undercover police sitting in cars outside my house so I go out for a walk to see who's in the car and its usually an old granny or something but even that doesn't put an end to my paranoia.

Heroin keeps me awake too so thats no solution. Booze knocks me out when I drink enough of it though. Its scary how much I can drink when I'm on amps and never wake up with a hangover. Weed seems to make me hallucinate even more and doesn't really help me sleep.

Opiates never cause psychosis in me but they do gimme some weird experiences when I'm falling asleep. Lying in bed I go into this nice dreamlike daze but when I start falling asleep I can consciously feel myself drifting into sleep but for some reason its so weird I have to pull myself out before I actually fall asleep. I feel cats clawing me and things stabbing me in the back and irritating ringing sounds and all sorts of weird shit.

Same kinda stuff that happens in sleep paralysis.

No it has never happend to me. I have never had psychosis. my point was that could make it worse. Opiates can cause psychosis in some people though it is probably rare.

"Caution should be exercised in the administration of morphine to patients with CNS depression, toxic psychosis, acute alcoholism and delirium tremens, and seizure disorders." just an example (morphine sulfate)

I think it all really depends on your dose of opiods. A small dose usually helps me get to sleep but if I take enough I'll start nodding and won't get any real sleep for hours.
