Not a gal but...

The patriotic factor just depends on the type of woman, especially who the fuck they voted for.

Yet, I know most girls like men in uniforms, especially navy, you might just be misinterpreting the two.

I don't know what you mean, I was just asking a question. For the record, the navy and air force are full of fags.

Anyway, I would think it's more of a respect for bravery/heroism than patriotism.

DONT WORRY ABOUT IT.
Default Re: Girls: guys in the military, yay or nay?

They tend to have a slight preference(from what ive noticed) for them just because they think they may find some guy thats actually a Man and not a joke just because hes in the army....but they don't always find what they want.

You know that a lot of positions in the army require A levels and the like, right?
I don't think you have A levels in Scotland though, so that may be why.

Well this boy that used to go to my school left after third year without finishing his standard grades (like GCSEs) to join the army

he also knocked up someone else's girlfriend
who had a baby at the age of 15

but that was quite a while ago
*sigh*

:D I guess I was mainly referring to the more technical positions, like officers and whatever.
The lowest ones probably don't require any, so the retards go there.

Yes, women love men in uniform. Marines, army, navy, whatever. If its camo it turns heads. (yes the navy has camies now... blue ones...)

Some of the best looking women ive dated was while i was in the service, but i think its more of the sceruity factor... "This guy has a guaranteed income for X amount of time" kinda thing...

Basically what im getting at is yes, service members have good qualities that appeal to women... but then theres the downsides too, risk, deployment, etc etc etc... those are usually the deal breakers.

posted from a cell phone... FTW

As an actual woman...

Not a chance. I don't think I would ever date someone in the military. I mean...I guess there's a chance, like with anything, but I could never date someone who liked something that anal retentive.

Its one of those sheep like phrases that people use (especially at the moment with the so called War On Terror) without bothering to think about what they're saying.

I can respect a man who is fighting for what he believes in.

However, I'm attracted to guys who share my anti-war sentiments. A man who is in the military would probably be a turn-off for me.

Oh Hell Yay. Military Men, especially big, brave, manly ones....

For me, it has something to do with the discipline they have, and the power they can portray if they know you respect it.

It depends. Obviously if she's some hippie bitch she won't be too interested. Also, if you join, there's a good chance you will be assigned to some big military base. For the women who live around there, seeing a guy in uniform is nothing special.

Also, cheating is a big problem in the military these days. It's hard to keep a relationship going when you're deployed for 12 months.

How about men on the police force?

Royal Canadian Mounted Police, specifically?

Any love for the Red Serge?

My husband is a major in the Air Force and I think he looks pretty hawt when he gets all dressed up in his blues...Or BDU's for that matter.:P

I don't think the military job itself makes a guy hawt, though. There are a lot of scummy people who join.

I know loads of women who would go crazy over a man in uniform, especially me, if i was still wearing one. It symbolizes you as brave (http://i17.photobucket.com/albums/b68/The_Wizard_of_OZ/root/November/popeye.jpg), tough (http://markpickavance.files.wordpress.com/2008/02/rambo_04.jpg), fit (http://www.mensfitnessmagazine.co.uk/images/front_picture_library_UK/dir_1/mens_fitness_561_13.jpg), disciplined (http://lh5.ggpht.com/_Zw4b281JQlg/Rxy8BdEDkFI/AAAAAAAAApA/y5_V_x1U2UY/inthehills.jpg).

Except after going in-depth into military life, you realize men like those are a minority.

Brave, yes, most are.

Tough, yes, but in the "blue-collar" tough sense.

Fit. It varies, but it does help to build perseverance, I'll give you that.

Disciplined, hah. Everyone follows orders at work. If you don't, you get fired. The lower down the chain you go, the less discipline you find.

However, if you've got a Navy uniform with wings, you don't need to do anything to get laid. It's like having a kid, a puppy, and licking your eyebrows at the same time.

Too bad Canada doesn't have pilots in the Navy :( The AF uniform is gay.
