If there is anyone from that scene on totse, I thought this'd be the place to find you. Does anyone on these boards go partying in norfolk and/or london? Or somewhere else? Are there big parties in other parts of the UK? What's the last party you went to? I was at an abandoned farm in norfolk this week. It was fuckin banging, once they got the genny sorted at about 4am.


To all you foreigners: us crazy brits like to squat up in an old warehouse/pub/field/anywhere, set up secret party-line numbers which reveal the location a few hours before, get thousands of fuck-heads all together with some massive fucking speakers and dance through the night deep into tomorrow. London parties are bangin', but I don't like to atmosphere as much... Too many crack-heads/people shooting up/people in drooling k-holes/people fighting and robbing. The squats always get sooo filthy as well lol. If you keep with the crowd and with people you know you can normally keep out of trouble and have a good night, but I still don't like the atmosphere. If you got a set of wheels get youself down norfolk mate! Big parties, just as many drugs, safe people, cleaner locations.

Lots of forest raves in Canterbury, Kent. They largely focus on psytrance, K, and MDMA. You've just got to get hooked up - no one will know where they are until about 3 hours before, so find someone who can get that 'special number' to find directions. That said, because Canterbury is dominated by students (it has two unis) there's always an abundance of house parties/raves that can be just as good. At my 21st, for example, we had a lighting set-up, 3 DJs (with vinyl decks and a big sounds system of course), over 100 guests, and an ass load of illicit narcotics floating about; it was amazing :).

In Brighton there's illegal raves, but also lots of legal ones too: try the Concord 2, and their monthly Devotion night. Devotion is basically the big DnB night in B'ton; next Saturday we've got Mampi Swift, London Elektricity, DJ Fresh, and (America's no.1 female dnb DJ) DJ Shortee

Watch out for illegal raves in B'ton as they're often taken over by scag-heads and occasionally pickeys will turn up and rob the sound system...

If you're going out in London there's The Synergy Project (http://www.thesynergyproject.org/ - closest thing to a rave you'll find), Fabric (http://www.fabriclondon.com/ - London's DnB hub), and FWD (http://www.ilovefwd.com/ - not a rave, but if you like Dubstep...), to name a few.

Basically, there's always going to be raves in the UK whether you live in the country or whether you live in a town/city. I've found that illegal raves largely take part in the country-side, usually in industrial estates, farms, large open fields, house parties; whereas, your legal raves, that feature named artists, take place in cities.

Anyone going to Sanctuary or Westfest (Hardcore awards 2008 FTW!!!)?

I quite like the UK strain of hardcore music, it's a nice uplifting relief from the serious, dark sounding Dutch scene. I prefer the raves in Holland though because the pills are cheaper than in the UK (usually 2-3 euros a pop). Based on my own experience, the pills in Holland tend to be either bunk (about 40% of them) or clean (the rest) rather than cut with something. I always test every pill I get. Don't forget to check www.pillreports.org for pill brands, and buy test kits off www.azarius.nl, or check Stupid Noob's signature.

Hardcore must mean something much different in the US.

Hardcore and DnB is the only music that I will happily dance to when sober and its even better after dropping a few!
