Default "Comedy or Tragedy"

Well I think this line from Stranger Than Fiction currently defines my life. I've been wrecked by past relationships and strangled by suppressed emotions. Each year has less ups and more downs; this year seems to be the final nail in the coffin.

First let me explain something: as somewhat of an egocentric asshole opposites don't attract, the only opposite I care about is gender. So when I meet a girl who is uncannily like me, and pretty, you'd think my life had turned into a comedy - where things work out in the end.

Except I'm not attracted to her. And I love her, but like I would a sister.

Someone tell me to get some balls and stop whining. Or else induct me into your emo club. It seems the higher up I get in life, the closer to my goals, the further from fun and vibrance I seem to me.

As the S&A people of the community I respect most - past and present, n00bs and kewls included - I need some advice. I can't let this go on much longer, I don't have anything to live for but the hope of someone and that hope dwindles with every fucking year.

Im not sure I understand your post... but i will try to lend a helping hand.

I think your creating false hope for yourself, expecting miraculous events to transpire, when realistically, such things would never happen.

Secondly, you meet these girls, I think you make them out to be a perfect being, someone just like you, finally! the one! etc.

Don't do this.

You will continue to be let down and let yourself down.

My recommendation:

Find a hobby, pursue it. Make it your love. Nothing else will matter. This will take your mind off of this nonsense. Then, before you know it, you will wake up and finally be happy.

Arx? Posting here?? A welcome addition for sure, if surprising.

And I love her, but like I would a sister.

Move to Norfolk. Here we love all girls like we do our sisters, and traditionally they are.

Thank you but the 'clarification' was unnecessary.

Keep living, learn, don't hesitate to care.

Tragedy builds character and everybody can use more character.
