Exclamation A little problem

Ok so I was introduced to a friend's friend via telephone, and have been talking/ txting/ iming with her for the past month or so.
She does the obvious flirting stuff and we have been talking alot. I recently hung out with 2 of her friends(she couldn't go) and they kept asking me if I liked her and telling me that she really liked me. She is Incredibly hot and actualy really cool, the only problem is she has never seen me and I am ugly as fucking balls. When I meet her do you think I can still stand a chance and is there anything I can do that will help out?

You're your own worst critic. I'm sure her friends would have relayed to her what they think about your physical appearance, and if you're still talking to her it can't be that bad.

Of course you stand a chance, we're not all shallow whorebags. If you meet her just make sure you're freshly showered and smelling pretty, hair clean and neat, nice shirt, nice jeans, nice shoes, you can't do much wrong. She obviously likes your personality, so even if you're ugly as balls she should be able to see past that.

After years of people telling me that I'm the ugliest out of my group of friends, even from my parents, my self-esteem was wittled down to nothing, I dont know how I am supposed to all of a sudden get confidence?

Sorry bud, once she sees you she will realize she can do better. That is, if you are making an accurate assessment of yourself.

Also, her friends would never bring up if you are good looking enough for her or not, as they realize that is only for her to judge. But in all honesty, if you are correct, better luck next time.

^ Don't listen to the killjoy. He's just pissed off he can't find any hot girls himself.

As Kimness said, her friends are a good indicator. If they were asking you if you liked her, and encouragingly so, then they want you to like her because she likes you. If they thought you were hideous, they would not have been so nice.

So don't worry about it, all signs point to positive and good. If it worries you so badly, just pretend it doesn't exist. Denial is one of our best weapons for self-trickery.

Depends on what else you have to offer besides looks, like money, or a car, or drugs.

Thumbs up Re: A little problem

I can see a couple probable outcomes:

1) You may look alright, but think little of yourself. In that case you're average + have a good personality, so no worries. Low self-esteem is a bitch.

2) You look as bad as you think. A couple ways this can go:
2a) You've got her so in love with your personality that she'll say you're "cute" and things will work out.

2b) She'll see you, go out with you once or twice to soften the blow, and drop you.

2c) She'll see you for the first time, not like what she sees, everything will be awkward, you'll get nowhere with each other, and eventually drift apart (or remain friends online).

Just how I can see things going. I'm in a similar situation, so this is all stuff I've thought about before. I could be dead wrong of course, but assuming I'm not: pray for 1 or 2a.

When you say "ugly", what exactly do you mean?

Just keep doing what you've been doing when you meet her, and you'll score. For a guy, looks don't mean shit. What matters is your personality and the amount of muscle/fat you've got, and both of those you can control.

Haha I was in this situation in 8th grade.

we talked on the phone at a friends house and i got her number.

I felt she was kind of disappointed when we met, but we went skinny dipping in a pool on top of a loft, first pussy i ever saw.

i ended up fucking that one up myself, but i think honestly she will probably slowly break off contact.

edit: and trust me i'm uglier. but if she's as hot as you say she is i think 2b is probably what will happen.

she will stop chilling with you and you will be stupified. it sucks yeah, but that's life yall.

Nah, my whole post was calm and methodical. I'm not trying to flame you like CarbonB probably would, I'm just telling it like it is, not as a Disney cartoon would like it to be.

I remember this one study I saw in a Social Psychology textbook in which they had a pretty large group of college students(over 100, half women) take an extensive personality test. They also had a separate group evaluate a picture of each person that took the personality test, and rate their physical attractiveness on a 1-5 scale. With multiple people rating each person, the ratings were very likely to be consistent.

They then had each of these college students, who hadn't known their physical attractiveness had been rated, only their personality, go on dates with another person who had taken the test. After the date, each person was asked if they would like to go on another date with the person they just had a date with.

No matter what factors "lined up" in regards to the random personality test that came into play, the only reliable indicator for if someone would want to go on another date was if the person they just went on a date with was physically attractive. This applied to both men and women. In other words, to neither sex did it matter if they happened to be paired up in regards to shyness, intelligence, sense of humor, etc. The only thing that mattered to either sex was if the date was hot looking.

What can I say, I actually have evidence for my assertion that if his self-assessment is correct he probably doesn't have a snowball's chance in hell.

Well we are still animals afterall, you dont see female lions going and snuggling up with the weak small male lion do you ? No because he cant offer protection and such.

Its not anyones fault they dont want to be with an ugly person, its just the facts of life.

You see, now I am starting to get annoyed. No where in my entire fucking post did I say it is anyone's fault. I didn't make a value judgment anywhere. I never even said it was wrong for someone to be extremely shallow.

What I did say is that if the OP is genuinely ugly, the likelihood that a beautiful woman will want to date him after seeing him in person isn't very good. You're right, and so am I, it's just the facts of life. I wouldn't expect a beautiful woman to date an ugly guy, and I'm sure the OP doesn't want to date an ugly woman. It all works out in a nice reciprocal way, except the ugly people have to learn to deal with shallowness better lest they be found between a rock and a hard place.

Get over yourself fuckwit, what i said was directed at the op, but i used what you said as referance and to back up my point.

Touchy touchy.

That's assuming the OP's self-assessment is correct, the girl herself is attractive, and the test was accurate (exactly what do you mean by 'matching personalities', as far as I'm aware personality tests are hardly conclusive to a genuine apprasial of a person's wants and capabilities.)

Besides, all rationalities aside, I'm trying to encorouge this man to try while you're tearing him down. I think your logic is solid, but you miss the point. This isn't about science, this is about a man's life.
