| Cellular Mods Your cell phone is really just a specialized computer with a wireless network connection. It has the software that your cellular provider has picked for you, but their software sucks. Why not replace what they give you with better software that has more features? |

Your Cell Phone
I'm really not sure if this is the right forum - but it seems to be the forum for all things cell phone, mod or not.
What kind of cell phone(s) do you have right now, and with what carrier?? What do you like about it? What do you dislike?
I currently have a Samsung i616 through Fido. They only have two smartphones, and this one seemed to have a bit more functionality for the price. I like how it can sync up to my Mac, and how it can updated it's calender to sync up with my google calender .... I would like it better with a bigger keyboard, though. Even slightly bigger.
What about you?

Re: Your Cell Phone
SE P1i. I had a gigantic boner for the W960i before it came out, but it took too long.
The P1i's keypad is the main thing I like about it; it's a bit strange but excellent once you get used to it. Full QWERTY, but with rocker keys instead of dedicated buttons.
It's also been hacked to pieces - all of the software from all of the other UIQ3 phones you could possibly want is now available, and all system files and settings are open for you to play with. Deleted something you shouldn't have? Reflash and reload your backups.
So effectively - business phone with mini version of office, QWERTY keyboard, full customisation, 8gb removable memory (M2 bought seperately) and the full WALKMAN 3 player.

When i googled it i thought it looked weird but then i saw a bigger picture and it looks awesome
I actually just got the Nokia XpressMusic 5310 from TMobile. I had researched it after the first time i saw it and read the horror stories others had about it. Afterwards, i followed up with a visit to the TMobile store and toyed with the damn thing for nearly and hour or so. I went thru all the menus, features, mp3, cam, etc. I ended up liking it and decided to upgrade to that phne. As i kept reading more reviews i noticed a lot of them were from when the phone first came out back in Aug. or so. I guessing the firmware has been updated and fixes the bugs. Overall im happy as shit with the phone. I dont really need a 45W speaker and 8.1 MP cam on my phne. I might need the music if my ipod dies and i might need the cam everynow and then.
PS: This is my 1st post in this forum

Re: Your Cell Phone
I like both of those phones.
Welcome to the forum.... I really wish more people came by, so many people have cell phones but almost none know how they work or how you can make them better.

Re: Your Cell Phone
This.
Its shit.
I've got Verizon, and they don't offer ANY good phones.
I want a smartphone next (for Windows Mobile 6 basically), but none of them does Wifi, b/c Verizon likes to charge people 100$ / month for a data plan.

It's not so much that as opposed to their software is complete shit. well, at least in my opinion. I can get the same phones from other carriers and they work better, as a whole.
I've got a moto rokr. It has occurred to me that they were pushed for the holiday season last year before all the bugs were worked out. Mine is a bit glitchy at times. It works decently, but sometimes the screen becomes distorted. Also, the speaker for ringers and speakerphone functions sometimes doesn't work. Also, I would have liked a flash for the camera feature. I've got it through alltel. The service on it is actually good.

Service is excellent, but everything else is sub-par/company trying to rip us off.

Most cell phone companies are a ripoff in one way or another.
What's the worst thing they're doing to try to screw you over?
