I was thinking of doing maybe 1/2, then see how i'm feeling?

Don't bother with a half, chances are 1 tab will be an okish trip if that, I'd say get 2 and take 1 and see how you are.

Take two, jump in with both feet man, you only get one first time when it comes to acid, and I say make the best of it, I did it and don't regret it a bit. I was kinda like you, acid was my first drug besides weed or beer, and i dropped 2 hits and it was fantastic.

But don't be stupid and do it at like a Gwar show or something

Take the whole hit and try not to touch it with your fingers. Chances are your hit could be weak and you'll regret taking a half hit your first trip, you want it to be worthwhile.

totally worth it. take 2 and you won't regret it. just chew the tabs up and swallow them. i've never done shrooms either and i loved it.

I'm doing it with a couple of friends. It'll just be at a party at one of their places, with 20 or so other people. We're probably going to head to his room and watch a sweet DVD for some of it, etc. Dunno.

Like these people have said, take a couple hits.

1/2 a hit is not worth it. Generally people who take too little will often wish they had taken more when the trip is over. You don't want that. It's like being mentally blue balled.

Take several, and you will not likely regret it.

Good music, good setting, good mindset. You will have a killer time.

Enjoy what your mind has to offer.

I know when I trip I don't wanna be around a bunch of people, I usually trip by myself or with 1 friend. Being at a party on acid sounds like a bad trip to me. Get some good music and go outside and enjoy your trip in nature.

My first time i did 1.5 hits, me and my friend bought 3 and just split it... it was intense and amazing experience, but when it was all over i wished i had taken 2 hits or more... As long as you are in a safe environment and your life is generally happy go for at least 1, preferably 2 hits...

things that help when your tripping, before the trip write yourself a message to yourself on a sheet of paper that says something along the lines of "i took acid, it is making me feel the way i am, everything will go back to normal". seeing that on a sheet of paper in your own handwriting will be more convincing than someone else telling you that its all a drug. Do it with a friend that you trust, its also good if that friend has done acid before. Its always nice to trip with someone else, because you know they are feeling how you are feeling. For your first time its not a good idea to trip by yourself.....

if your trip start to turn negative, look at what you wrote before the trip. try to distract yourself, your thoughts will be speeding through your head and you can take advantage of that by something as simple as looking at your thumb and index finger and trying to figure out how much distance is in between them... it seems like a simple question sober but when tripping conventional thought is thrown out the window and by the time you come to an answer you might not even know what was upsetting you in the first place. try to get away from whatever might be bothering you, if you feel cramped inside, go outside.

If you play any instruments, try playing something on acid. if you are the artistic type, try drawing something on acid, and if your the writing type then write. video games don't go well with acid, the second time i did acid i attempted to play gears of war, sucked horribly and then i just lost interest, sat back, and listened to pink floyd.

Eat before your trip, it suppresses appetite a good bit although things like oranges are mindblowingly delicious...

try to decide if you would rather trip in the day or the night. im a night person and like how peaceful nights are, but tripping in the day has always been nice and colorful... if you do trip at night, i would suggest a night with a clear sky. you will see why its called lucy in the sky with diamonds...

try to stay away from mirrors for your first trip. for your entire life whenever you have looked in a mirror you have seen yourself as you appear to everyone else, when your on acid what looks back at you isn't what you look like, and most of the time whats looking back at you isn't pretty. Personally i can stand in front of a mirror and seeing my face become gaunt and skeletal in appearance and it doesn't bother me, what does bother me is my eyes. they just look so hollow, black, soulless and while still looking slightly deranged....

if you smoke cigarettes, have at least a pack... it will be the best pack of cigarettes you will ever have smoked. Weed is also very nice, but will make things generally more intense.

edit: for your first time dont do it at a party... its not a good idea. i tripped at a Halloween party around a whole bunch of icp kids running around with hatchets and machetes, but i had a bit to drink to knock the acid down a bit and make things tolerable.... it wasn't a bad trip but it sucked because at 4 am in the morning when everyone had crammed into the house, it was just me and my friend still up from the acid... with everyone else passed out until the sun came up... generally though, alot of people around you while tripping is not a good idea, do it with a single friend or maybe 2 in a calm environment...

Jamaica has good tips and info there. Glowsticks and blacklights are always fun on acid. I know, typical but awesome.

I have a whole jar of hi-lighters beside my bed along with a big stack of blank computer paper and 3 huge black lights. Great minds think alike. And thanks for the invite I never knew about that room in IRC, I'll be sure to swing by sometime soon. :)

Our parties aren't typical parties. People don't tend to drink excessive amounts, and we're usually just laying around on couches listening to prog or jazz. So yeah, the party itself will be a calm environment, but the 3 of us will probably take time and just chill out.

I had alot more psychedelic experience than you at the time though...But hell, it's not scary or anything - it's just fucking sweet. Go nuts man.

Oh, and a word of advice - not saying it'll work for you but...I've personally never believed in bad trips. They just don't happen. Period. Sure, some people may have what I call an "overwhelming experience" where they have a stronger experience than desired, and as a result they get scared which bums down the trip. But a "bad trip" persay? Hell no.

They just don't happen. Coincidence that I've never had a bad trip? I think not.

this man has a point, acid is not chilled out... i did it with my semi overweight friend who never likes to exercise and i had to chase him down the street because it felt so god damn good to run... My first acid trip was the single most happy time of my life, when you feel happier than you could have ever conceived sober, so happy that you have to be just a little bit insane to feel that happy its wonderful.... like the collective joy of the universe just got crammed into your head sort of feeling... when i started coming up i started to giggle a bit, then it just went out of control... i laughed at things that weren't even funny, i laughed at myself for laughing at things that weren't funny, and then i laughed harder just because it felt good to laugh... but my point is that there is far too much running through your head while tripping on acid.

most movies are pointless on acid... your not going to understand them unless you have seen them before. I have watched fear and loathing on acid. I could watch across the universe as the Beatles are always a favorite trip music for me.

Never try to fight it either, just let yourself go... The girl who first gave me LSD told me one thing that helped me a bit, "just let the lovin take hold". Things become much easier when you just let go of everything you have considered to be conventional thought. i had a thought the first time i was tripping "i feel insane, i don't even remember what feeling sane is like" but i didn't let that turn into "oh shit, im going to be crazy forever", i just told myself that i took acid and was going to come down before the sun came up and just started to enjoy this blissful insanity that i was experiencing.

sometimes laying there just spiraling out in the dark is pretty cool as well.

thanks, just posting what i have learned from places like this and first hand experiences...

Me and this girl are getting two hits of acid, she really wants to trip with me, and i've never done it, and she hasn't either. She's never smoked weed but she does drink and smoke cigarettes.

She's getting them from one of her best friends and we're having the girl who she's getting it from come babysit us while we trip the first time because we've never done it before.

My drug use is limited to weed and alcohol.

We're going to be taking them at around 2 and going to be at her house while her parents are out.

Is there anything that i should know about it? like, i heard if you drink milk it ends your high faster.

I trust both of them completely, i've known the girl i'm gonna be tripping with for 9 years and i'm only 16 years old so for most of my life, and i've known the trip sitter for 3 years. They both trust me 100% and we are all really close friends.

We live in the woods so we'll probably be going out and doing stuff out there, but is there anything you guys might be able to reccomend we do to make full use of it?

If you're getting a sitter, make it very clear to them that if you want space, she has to give it to you.

I often find that a third party who is not tripping can often interfere with a trip in a multitude of ways.

Just make sure they'll give you space if needed. Being alone with the person you're tripping with can promote some very intimate connecting. Emotionally, spiritually, and maybe even physically ;)

I can't have any one around that isn't tripping, it sometimes can be a very very weird trip. When I was 16 me and my friend had a trip sitter for us and I could tell the sober person wasn't enjoying themselves. Me and my friend was outside running around like complete mad men swinging glow sticks around our heads on fishing line and diving into giant piles of leaves. Then we realized our sober friend was shaking his head and had a scared look on his face. We started thinking he was talking on the phone that whole time and he knew some bad news we didn't know. We started asking him what was going on and if he knew somethin we didn't. Really all he was scared about was us acting like we came straight out of the loony bin and he didn't know what to think about it. He just said no, you guys are acting weird I don't know anything, I promise I don't know anything.

He finally got fed up with us after we kept demanding that he drives us to kroger to get blue jello and birthday candles. He said there was no way he would take us in town like that because it'd be too obvious. He got us distracted inside with a black light and white shoe strings and bounced out when we we're paying attention. Trip sitters are weird in my experiences, that's all I can say.

just make sure the girl has an idea of what she is getting herself into... lsd will be like nothing she has ever experienced... what most people who haven't done enough reading into the drug will think "if i take this, i will see things moving and pretty colors" which is usually pretty true but the mental aspect of the drug is something harder to grasp... you cant really do much to prepare for the mental part other than just being able to let go of everything you consider to be sanity. my first trip i couldn't even remember what sanity felt like, but i was able to tell myself that whatever it was it would be back in a few hours and that allowed me to enjoy the rest of the trip...

my first trip it was just me and one of my good friends, both of us had never done any psychs. we were both fine and happy and had great trips... i like to just be around people who are tripping, never really liked the idea of a trip sitter, they just don't seem to get it... like someone else said, make sure before the trip that she will give you space if you want it...

pretty sure milk wont change the trip, just don't be swishing around tap water while the hits are in your mouth.. just put them in your mouth, let them sit on your tounge for a while, chew them up until its a pulp and swallow... then find something to kill the time until you start to feel it...

short of enough downers or alcohol to knock you out. or some anti psychotics the trip just has to play out... don't try to sleep a trip off, if you do manage to fall asleep you could always wake up peaking and thats not usually pleasant, just asking for alot disorientation.... although alcohol or benzos will ease the trip a good deal, i think its better to try to work through whatever is bothering you... it can be a life changing experience.

and since you have woods, go out into nature... the colors should be mind blowingly beautiful...

i also have never done acid but i have done about 5 fresh shrooms one night and it was very cool i must say.

my real question is how long is a trip usually? would i be able to take it at 11 PM and be done by 6 or 7? alone in my room with some music.

at around the 7-8 hour mark your not going to be completely back to sober but probably fine to be around people, you wont be able to sleep till probably the 14th hour after taking it though... it last a bit longer than mushrooms..

i don't recommend doing it alone in your room...
