The other night, a load of cars down my road and in my area got broken into. The police are not doing anything about it as it is too much effort to catch the people who did it..

With my dad's car, they missed £400 of cash, but took a bottle of aftershave (loltards, better luck next time)

So I was thinking, aside from tripwires and guns, what other fun stuff could I do to get back at them? Stay up all night with binoculars and scope them out?

From a former friend of carshoppers, I know how these people think..just wondered if BI had any ideas

Now, if this guy has half a brain, he will move on to a different neighborhood. So get in your car, and stake out some virgin territory.

Once you see the carshopper, get out of your car and stalk him.

Wait till someone tries to go into a car.

Sneak up from behind, and introduce his backside to wood. If you don't want to do too much damage, just rock the back of his head with the end of the bat.

Make sure he is injured/dazed, then grab him, and tell him, "Go tell your punk ass friends to never come back to this neighborhood, lest you want a hole in your head."

He'll spread the word to all the carshoppers he knows.

Vigilantism is all about surprising the shit out of someone, slightly injuring them, and threatening them. Anything more severe will get you arrested.

Doubt he will be back....
Just get better fucking security, they only hit the easy targets...

What are you pissed because you were too stupid to lock your car or did they actually break into it?

I don't consider breaking into a car to be "car shopping". To me car shopping means finding cars that are unlocked and looking through them to find something you might want. Breaking and entering is too much trouble. I've never known anyone who would do "breaking and entering" just to take a chance on getting nothing worthwhile. If I knew someone had as much money as your dad did in a car, then I would consider that worthwhile, but not "shopping".

Only idiots go back to the same neighborhood so you'll probably be wasting your time. If you really want to just scope out your neighborhood and nearby neighborhoods until you find them and try to beat them with a bat or something.

take a pipe wrench, put it in your coat and walk around at night, you see someone car shopping, beat them down.

The car was locked - they just wrenched the lock out with a screwdriver. It's a pretty modern car, too..

the one time some one tried getting stupid in my neighborhood the guy beat the fuck outta him with a bat, and the guy tried it again, so my buddy beat the shit outta him in his backyard...sadly I was 2000 miles away when it all went down
