Maturity in young relationships
I've been dating my girlfriend for almost 9 months and I'm realizing something. I am maturing in our relationship, and she is not. She is still in the clingy over controlling mindset. I love her alot, but this is just bullshit. It's driving me insane, when she still does those trick questions and "tests" that I thought one would be done with by middle school. Im almost 16, she's half a year older than me. She isn't stupid, just really immature and it's getting to the point where I don't think I can continue the relationship, as much as it would hurt.
Would it be wiser to break it off and move on, or do you think she'll "catch up" so to speak?

Re: Maturity in young relationships
I don't want to sound negative but it's doubtful she'll catch up with you. She'll probably catch up with the next guy down the line. Or the guy after that.
Bad news either way.

Re: Maturity in young relationships
You guys are continuing to and already have established roles og behavior in your relationship. The fact that she has stagnated, will continue to be just as true as the fact that you are growing.
In an idealistic world, I'd say leave her if you aren't 100% happy with the roles you two play and maybe after a few months of being apart, she can do some growing on her own. However, most people need to be at the total wits end before ending a destructive relationship. Good for you if you can see it now AND act for what's right for the BOTH of you.

I am not going to dodge around this fact, I am a pussy when it comes to hurting people.
I really don't even think I could bring myself to break up with her. Grrr damn non-perfect reality, always fucking things up.

I was in the same boat. I had a much more realistic view on love, and she had such high expectations of herself and what she should feel. I didn't want to break up to her because she was all depressed-like (actually). To the point of an attempted suicide (pussy attempt).
But really, if you feel that way, she's going to end up hurting you in the long run. It's going to be easier on the both of you if you can realize that your just in different places and that the timing is off.
As I've said, the only time I plan on talking to her is to see if she has some kind of STD (she's a slut now, I was her first, and I stupidly fucked her again). If so, then I have to get tested too. After that, I ain't answering anything from her number.
Only problem is if she calls my house and my parents pick up.

You are 16.
How mature do you expect your relationship to be? Honestly?

Last time I reminisced, overly clingy and annoying cunts wasn't in any way a good part about being young. He isn't talking about getting a fucking mortgage and a corporate job. He's talking about breaking up with her because he finds her incredibly annoying and clingy.

Hahahaha so why is putting up with it a good idea? That's fucking retarded. If you can fix a problem you're having, you fucking do it.
If you lived in the ghetto and won the lottery, you wouldn't say "being poor isn't a good part of living in the ghetto, but it's still a part" and throw it all away, right? Why is this any different?
He's in a situation he doesn't like. He has the power to get out if he wants. Telling him to put up with annoying shit just because it's part of the life he's living at the moment is retarded.

And his next girl won't be a clingy bitch?
prove this ...
Alot of younger girls are clingy bitches,
sure he'll get out of the ghetto but wind up back in a slum

Alot of younger girls are clingy bitches,
Do you listen to yourself? Yes, lots of young girls are clingy, yes, lots are sluts, and yes, many are annoying cunts. But this in no way means you shouldn't be able to look for and find one that isn't.
No, we can't prove his next woman wont be a clingy bitch. But in human relationships there is virtually no such thing as scientific proof. So the best the OP can hope for is that he knows how to find a girl that isn't going to be annoyingly clingy. If he himself matured enough to not be clingy, then he has a much better chance at finding a girl that has done the same.

Jesus, are you fucking retarded?
He isn't refraining from dumping her because he's clingy, he's not doing it because he doesn't like hurting people.
There's a difference between maturing into someone who doesn't need to play mind games and test their partner in a relationship, and being cold hearted and not giving a shit about how bad your actions make other people feel.

Re: Maturity in young relationships
Unfortunately for both of us, I don't really see her catching up to you right now. I have the same problem with a girl I'm talking to. She's 16 and no matter how hard I try and express my dislike of her childish, frustrating ways, nothing changes. Luckily I'm smart enough to not go out with her, but then I'm older and more mature than her.
My advice to you is to look for a back-up girl; talk to new girls and girls that you might ignore because of your relationship. Because eventually you're going to be fed up with her, and if you follow my advice at some point you're going to realize you would rather have a shot with one of the other girls than keep dealing with this one.

this is good advice. though it may seem a little obvious, its always good to have things reassured.
