present or most recent, how did you meet your SO?

I met my boyfriend while traveling overseas. We live on opposite sides of the country and at the time said that it would just be until we went home. We got back to our respective homes and were both miserable. He called me on Valentine's day, we skirted around the subject for an hour. Later that night he emailed me about how he really felt and I booked a flight to see him that week. Been together for a year and a half or so.

I was working in Germany on an exchange scheme for Community Service Volunteers.

As a reward there was a trip to Budapest organised. I hadn't planned on going cos 1.i hate coach travel and 2. A week spent in the company of middle class german kids with social consciences isn't my idea of fun.

But the night before we were due to leave I had been drinking and at 5AM on a drunken whim I decided i would infact go. I threw a toothbrush and about 20 bottles of beer into a bag and headed off the the rendevous at Frankfurt Main Train Station (the Coach/Bus Park).

I was there before everyoen else and leant against the bus sign slowly drinking myself further into my private narcolepsy.

The rest of the kids going started to arrive. Suddenly this incredibly cute small blond girl comes up to me and asks if I am in a rock band (the arse length hair and obvious alcoholism being a dead give aways I guess).

Up to then I didn't believe in all that nonsense about love at first sight but I saw her and it felt like someone had kicked me hard. In that instant I KNEW I was going to marry this woman and have babies with her.

We sat together on the bus, her talking to me until I passed out in Austria. At one of the motorway services I went into the shop and stole her a cute teddy bear. By the next day we had made love (well attempted to) and decided we were meant for each other and we were already mentally 'married' and planning kids.

That was back in May 1988.

Still together.

Can't say its been easy.

Weird thing is, she hadn't planned to go on the trip either and had only changed her mind at the last moment ( something she still does ...being VERY female!).Even weirder was that she and I both worked in the same place and although only a few metres apart had never met.

We were both 'engaged' to other people too at that time.

I met my last girlfriend was one of my friends stepsisters so i met her through him. I didn't even know he had a step sister at the time and i really needed a girl. She was a bit emo but i knew she was the one for me and a huge crush on her from the beginning. We became best friends and gradually started dating. She dumped me 2 weeks ago this Saturday coming. I'm very depressed and don't know what to do i don't even know why she dumped me its like one day she loved me and the next she didn't. I can still tell she likes me but she acts like she doesn't i really dunno where to go and no matter how sweet i am it doesn't help. We've been through a lot together i want her back she was a great girl the greatest girlfriend ever and i would quite honestly like to marry her and 2 weeks ago she felt the same way about me. Any suggestions people? what about you Jacketch people say your answers always work but you've never gave me any suggestions before.

Fuck knows why she dumped you, maybe she got frightened by the strength of her feelings for you, the idea of marriage. Who knows why the fuck women do anything.

Only advice I can give is to wait and see. Although after 2 weeks the chances of her suddenly appearing on your doorstep are slim.

Only way to get her back would be to talk it through with her and if she doesn't want to talk to you then there ain't much you can do (for the love of god do NOT try getting her to talk to you by cornering her somewhere).

she talks to me everyday she even treats me as we are going out basicly. She gets pissed when i talk to other girls she says because she doesnt "love" me anymore but she still cares about me. The day before she dumped me was are first sexual experience. I always talk to her bout it but she ignores it and doesn't care. I'm going to Africa for quite a while and i haven't not talked to her for 1 day since i met her so who knows maybe she'll miss me. I agree but girls r the most random things on this fucking planet and make no sense who knows maybe she even fell for another guy but i have no idea who. I doubt it will ever be clear i guess i will wait till i get back from Africa and if she still doesn't want me i will just get with as many girls as possible to forget about the pain. I wish love was as easy wit my relationships. Its basically like I'm still her boyfriend just shes not my girlfriend anymore. Ohwell Meh.

I was a junior and he was a senior in school. It was all very unlikely - we have been inseperable ever since, and I love him more than words can describe.

Friend of a friend

She came to introduce me to him and a few others at around 2pm in the summer holidays last year

I was asleep and my brother called me down and I had to open the door to them in my spongebob dressing gown

I met my SO in grade 8, im pretty sure, might have been 9th grade, but somewhere around there. At that point i was "with" another girl and i had to skipped class with my friends that day to go and see that other girl. Now, i say me and my SO met then, because she was going out with one of my best friends, now, nothing happend, they went out for a little over a year, he cheated on her multiple times, she got fed up and broke it off with him.

At that point i had just gotten over (or was still getting over) a mindfuck from another girl, and well, to tell the truth i just thought of Mel (my girlfriend now... err... not the girl who mindfucked me) as a one night stand type of thing to get over the other girl, one thing leads to another, me and mel start going out (this is at the middle of grade 10) things didnt end up working out, and we were broken up within two weeks.

Fast forward to my senior year of highschool, i end up being seated next to mel in my english class, started off slowly with lots of flirting, escalated into subtle touching during class, until we basically got to the point where we'd have to go to the forest behind the school between breaks to fuck because we couldnt stop touching each other.

We were fuck buddies for about 2-3 months, and then well, i guess things just kinda fell into place, been together for 3 years now (3 years in july i mean) and i couldnt be happier.

Through friends. Don't remember the actual day, it was a progressive thing.

I first met him Wii camping outside of Target. Was really late and he and a bunch of his friends came by and we got to talking, tried to score some crack but none of them had any. His friend was the one I actually first started talking to online a lot, we probably would've gone out if it weren't for this massive snowstorm that hindered me from going to a show with him. He eventually introduced me to Jack because he thought we had a lot of the same interests (drugs, Hunter S., Steadman) and we've been together about a year now.

Myspace. Sort of.

He used to come into my work and apparently thought I was hot, and I hated him because he looked really emo and would never make eye contact with me or smile or be nice (he was shy).
One night I came home from work to find he'd asked to be my friend on myspace. I was about to hit "decline" but changed my mind and decided to sleep on it (why? Who knows, but fuck I am glad I did!) The next day he came into my work to buy some paper and my heart nearly jumped out of my chest (WHY?! I hated him at the time. I think I must've subconsciously known something. Or I thought he might have tried to talk to me and I wouldn't know what to say), but he just bought some stuff for his work and left.
That night I added him to Myspace and left a silly comment saying that I'd sold him stuff. He commented back, then we messaged, then he gave me his MSN and we chatted for awhile, and then he had to go out. Because we'd been getting along so terrifically, I gave him my mobile number right off, and later that night he drunkenly asked me out.

The next night I went to gig that his band was playing at, and I didn't see him until the end of the night, and when I finally caught up with him he gave me the most amazing hug ever, and I was hooked.
After that he'd wait for me after work and keep me company until my train came, and buy me chocolate and V (the energy drink). It was lovely :)
2 years later (as of Tuesday just gone) we're still together and I love him more than I could ever describe.

The story is fraught with action, adventure, heartbreak, tragedy, and tear jerking moments.

I met my ex on an MSN chatroom in 1999 and we went out for years. Long distance was too much work though.

My current girlfriend's cousin started working with me and I hung out with her a few times and thats how we met. A few weeks later we were going out and I can count on one hand the nights we've spent apart since (not including me falling asleep in front of the TV drunk)

I was doing coke at this chicks house, and a bunch of dudes showed up with some drank so I started drinking, and then at some point she showed up and put on nirvana so I thought she was kinda cool.

Then, a few weeks later, I was partying with these highschool kids in some chicks house, and we didn't have anyone to buy us alcohol (these black dudes who'd been getting it for us ripped off an ipod and cellphone from some people, so we didn't want to call them) and she had a fake so she picked us up some forties. She was playing good music, and then i blacked out and somehow got her phone number. I started partying with her, then one day I woke up with her naked and passed out in her basement.

We've been together over a year, and she couldn't make me happier.

I met the girl that I'm currently seeing through a former boss.
