If you have enough RAM, its possible. You'll have to mount the hard drive, though that will probably be easy. To save the videos you'll need a firefox plugin, I recommend UnPlug.

You'll need to put the correct *.so file into the correct mozilla folder; I can't remember which one. Maybe it's in /usr/ somewhere. It's possible, to say the least. Afterwards, you'll need to restart firefox. This is more of a manual thing. The .so file is about 2MB, so you can't really put it on a floppy.

The other option is to go to youtube, play a video, notice that a pop-up was blocked, and then install the ADOBE version of the flash plug-in.

And yes, you can install just as many programs as RAM that you have left. But you'll want to leave some RAM left in order to use those programs.

Yes, and it would depend on where you put it. You'll have to mount (access and utilize) the HDD and save the movie onto the HDD in a spot of your choosing.

Well, let me correct my previous statement, I think just about anything is possible as long as you enough RAM. If you're curious about that, look into the i-RAM (a device made by a company called Gigabyte) and a RAM upgrade. Somethings are tricky like video card drivers. Older versions of ubuntu allow it to be easy with an xserver restart, but the newer ones require a computer restart which is stupid when it comes to a live-cd environment; you would have to flush the RAM--- drrrrrr... I haven't found a way, I'm sure there is a way.

Or you could install gnash (sudo apt-get install mozilla-plugin-gnash) and mount the drive (Ubuntu discs have ntfs-3g on them IIRC).

I'm pretty sure gnash is still very, very buggy. When the 7.10 ubuntu started offering gnash, tons of people (including I) reported serious issues with it.

There are some issues, but Gnash isn't very mature yet. There's also swfdec, but I prefer Gnash. It's the best and most widely used free software for flash, so it's what I'll use.

The non-free option in this case isn't really an option, since it tracks your usage habits and reports them back to Adobe.
