My situation
So, I think i need some advice.
I dated this one girl for 9 months, we practically lived together during that time. Anyways, about 6 months ago we broke up. Her friend told her that I was cheating (blatant lie) and she chose to believe her friend. She has sense realized that he was mistaken and is very sorry. During the last 6 months we have remained close friends and she has dated a few guys, usually for like a month at the longest. Here is where the tricky part comes into play. We both like each other still and talked about maybe dating again for a while and then go from there. However, she also likes this other guy and wants to try her hand with him. I'm sick of waiting for this girl and always feeling like I have to compete with another guy over her. Problem is, part of me still loves her a little bit. Also, there is this other girl I do happen to like a little bit but I'm not so sure I would ever be able to get her to date me.
What do you all think I should do? Let her try her hand with the other guy and wait until they break up? They wont last a month. Or should I finally try and move on?

Re: My situation
She's just keeping you around in case things go wrong with whoever else she wants to "try her hand at." You're being treated as an object she uses for comfort when one of her other relationships fails. She has also previously proved that she's an idiot on some level because she believed you cheated just because someone said so.
It's your choice, but I wouldn't say she's worth it.

I was gonna help you out but this guy said exactly what I was thinking... I would move on man... but it's your choice in the end so good luck either way bud

Re: My situation
I don't really agree with the other posters. sometimes women really do want a friend.
I'm actually in a pretty similar situation at the moment. I enjoy the company of the guy I'm with but I'm not sure yet if I want to be in a relationship with this person. If you both are dating other people but still remain in touch, I see no reason to make a big deal about 'waiting for her'. The fact is you're not.
Just let things run their course. If you think this guy shes with is serious, don't think into it. Go about your life like nothing happened, there is no reason for you to compete with anyone. she has dated you, she knows what you are. She will probably call you up in a while telling you what a jackass he really was.
Either way, just keep in touch as friends, if you're meant to be together, you will.

Re: My situation
yeah, pretty much shes keeping you around and seeing if she could do better and having you as her safety net (which has been stated above). you should confront her, personally i'd give her an ultimatum and tell her im only giving her one last try, if she ever choses to believe someone else over me, we're done. and if she choses the other guy, we're done, no friendship bullshit or casual sex. feelings and sex do not mix.

Re: My situation
You guys!
Obviously there's a reason he's sticking around her!
He's trying to get into her purse, that's where's she's keeping his balls.
Otherwise he'd be the fuck over that bitch.

Re: My situation
A wise man once said...
"dude, the fact that there's all these problems you had, and that fact that you still love her so. It just means she's the one. Sorry to break it to you. go out, get laid. and one day, when she comes back to you, take her back and live horribly ever after. but the catch is, you can't chase after her. just go out and get laid and have fun. and know she'll always be waiting for you. it should make you feel better. when you don't care too much about her, but you know she's scheming to get you back."

Re: My situation
Most posters in here are judging the girl's intentions with no clear information avaliable, nor her side of the story, or any evidence to back themselves up. The situation actually seems quite even, so if you were going to say that about her, you'd probably have to say that about him too based on actions alone.
Anyway mate, there are two options. Ride it out, see other people, and see how it goes. Or tell her that you want to get back together again and have at it, in the bedroom, 6 times a day with no meals; only diet pills and water.
Oh, and make sure she's matured enough to now realise that no matter what anybody says, she has to obtain reasonable doubt first. Dumping you over a rumour? If she's the same girl, I would spit on her rather than see her again.
