Ok.
On a day to day basis, how many men or women approach you to get to know you better or find out your phone number?
I've always found it hard to believe that people don't always have someone around that wants to get to know you or hang out.
People have been pointing out that there are too many people approaching me; that I'm stealing their thunder.
It's annoying.

Re: Ok.
Zero. Even when I'm on my crowded university campus people tend to ignore me.
Maybe it's because I look mean or something?
Or maybe I'm ugly? Maybe it's because I'm kinda tall and lanky?
Oh well, another obstacle in life to overcome. I think, however, if they know you're outgoing and see your openess, they are more likely to approach you.

Re: Ok.
Random strangers? Zero, at least in recent memory. Some of my friends report getting approached all the time, but I don't really go to clubs/bars whatnot. I mainly go to house parties where I already know lots of people because I a.) live rural and b.) am under 21
Through work and class and mutual friends, girls wanting to get my number or mention hanging out and doing something, that maybe happens a couple times a week if it's towards the weekend. I don't follow up too often though... maybe couple times a month I'll talk to them again... I've already got a group of friends I'm satisfied with and don't really expand too much.. then again I'm not exactly romantically fulfilled either..

Re: Ok.
Let's see. I wake up at 6:30. On the ride to work, none. At work, none of the 4 guys I work with hit on me, thankfully. On the ride home, none.
That's none from 6:30 to 18:00. Then it's dinner/training/guitar/fucking around. Again, no female contact to be had. If I chose to walk my sister's dog, there's a rare chance I'll find a female in my area hot enough to approach. Then I come home and sleep.
So yeah, on a workday, I approach anywhere from zero to zero women.
If I'm in the mood for getting laid, I'll go to a club, approach any of a couple of dozen women, pick out a favourite and get laid. Kinda hard to do any of that when you've got no free time. And you've got very little desire to stick your dick in the filth you do meet. And you're a man, so you only get approached by ugos.

Exactly what I was thinking.
Generally, zero women. The only time women make their desires clear is when I'm actually in the presence of my girlfriend.

Re: Ok.
Ehhh. Not many women approach me. They just kind of look at me and stay silent. Girls I meet sometimes do that stupid "Ohhhh, let me see your phone lolololol!" and then put the number in there when they're around their friends but that's it.
My fat friend said he didn't like walking me with in public sometimes because he said it was like "Walking next to Mr. Universe."
I can't imagine my image helps me much. I look like a scene kid on steroids. I have very large pecs and shoulders.. it makes a weird illusion as to my actual size because I like tight shirts.

Re: Ok.
It's not a question of how I look. Or I hope that it isn't an issue.
I remain curious, and I might always remain curious, about why people approach me.
It's simply strange to not be "just another guy".
It's nothing that I value or notice, but people point it out every once in a while.
I'm not trying to be patronizing or annoying, it's an honest question that gets raised every so often.
To better illustrate things, I was given three girls numbers today and had my number requested by several more after a couple minutes of conversation. A guy have me his number too, as well as several people asking about facebook.
I don't get it and others are pointing it out at a level that's frustrating.
I'm not even looking for anything.

Re: Ok.
It could have something to do with demographics as well. I live in such a bum-fuck town that everyone my age pretty much knows each other. What do you do everyday that exposes you to this volume of new people? I mean, I don't really remember the last new person I met. It's sort of pathetic.

Re: Ok.
It depends, I'm well known in the area I live so unless there's a stranger to town or someone wanting to get to know me better it's usually zero. The other night out a girl from my new work called me over for a chat so it does happen.
...Before I go on I'll point out that I'm shy and quiet. Unless you seem really interesting and approachable or I'm in an altered state of mind I'm not likely to speak to new people.
Elsewhere...all the time. At meetings most people will introduce themselves to me, I really don't get this and put it down to my age - I'm the youngest worker in my field by about a good 20 years for a vast area.
At uni...I know my entire class, I don't recall ever going up to introduce myself to any of them.
Last time I went on a trip to Melbourne I met all sorts of characters :D
So yes I get it, no one bitches about it to me.

Re: Ok.

Another reason why I am getting tired of women and their predictable ways. When I'm out with my friends or just traveling alone, no girls even try to talk to me. But when I'm out with my girlfriend, I catch them looking at me and sometimes they'll even initiate conversations with my girlfriend and I. I just came back from a f-cking 1 week vacation in Hawaii where I met one of the hottest girls I have ever seen. It was on the plane ride to Hawaii, actually. She started talking to me, then my girlfriend, and, what I found out later from my girl, she even asked questions about me when I left to use the bathroom. This sh-t never happens when I travel alone.

Dude... fallacious?
Do you know what a fallacy is? I'm just going to assume you meant fraudulent or something of that nature.
But back on topic...
I get approached by probably a few different people a day. I don't give out my phone number typically to random people, and not just random guys, but even random girls. I have a trust issue among people. For instance, I don't even like people knowing where I live.

Lauren and I have both moved on. Upseting her has never been something that interests me.
Remembering Lauren still brings a smile to my face and I wish her nothing but the best.
I can't speak for her, but I don't see how this thread has any chance of upsetting the woman.
This thread contains nothing more than my personal curiosity. Life is full of questions. Sometimes it's easier to think something through with the written word.

Re: Ok.
Generally, only half the people who want to approach me do because I keep a ice shield up where ever I go. I'm not interested in meeting people and DEFINITELY do not give out my number.. except to a few choice chicks when I'm drunk and feeling friendly. I never end up actually hanging out with these girls..
It all depends where I'm at and what I'm wearing. I tend to scrub it out a lot so people leave me alone in the grocery store/running errands/mall. I don't like to attract attention to myself. When I do dress up to go dancing or I'm at the beach it's a totally different world. At work, any single, straight guy who I talk to for more than 2 minutes while giving them their change. I get approached so often, it's just a normal happening in my day to day routine so I've just become accustomed to rejecting people very nicely.

I do a lot of walking on main roads, most guys in a car will smile and wave but it doesn't go further than that because, well, they're in a car. The guys that I do meet in person are usually through the same group of guys whom I normally hang out with, not a good way to meet someone to be honest, they're all assholes and I can't really play my cards around those guys.

No one walks where I live. Everything in the city is so spread out you have to drive or take a bus. So when I'm downtown the only people who approach me are homeless/cracked out. Generally people just don't approach other people here. At the bars, sure. That's about it, though.
I asked a girl for her number a couple weeks ago. Nothing came of it.

It's a simple curiosity. Why do people approach someone? What makes someone approachable? Is it a common thing?

to do it to every girl seems excessive, but actually , not sneaking up but to approach a girl without her seeing you is a pretty good way to get an advantage since girls check out every guy that walks into a room and already makes a subconcious decision whether she likes him or not. by approaching them without them seeing you, you get a chance to talk to them and say something without them already have judged you.

I agree. Sneaking up on women works well. Especially when you sneak up on them outside of a club at 2 oclock in the morning in a dark alleyway or at a public park at night when they are jogging. Just make sure your all sweating a breathing hard when you do it... to give them a sniff of the pheromones.

Re: Ok.
On a day to day basis, how many men or women approach you to get to know you better or find out your phone number?
Absolutely none.
I've always found it hard to believe that people don't always have someone around that wants to get to know you or hang out.
Ah sir you good looking people do not know how hard life can be for us the aesthetically challenged.
People have been pointing out that there are too many people approaching me; that I'm stealing their thunder.
It's annoying.
This is Euda's (very cute) way of letting people know he's hot.

Re: Ok.
It's not a question of how I look. Or I hope that it isn't an issue.
Maybe you have an aura of mystery that simply draws people in? Who knows. We can't tell without actually seeing you in person.
I remain curious, and I might always remain curious, about why people approach me.
It's simply strange to not be "just another guy".
It's nothing that I value or notice, but people point it out every once in a while.
I'm not trying to be patronizing or annoying, it's an honest question that gets raised every so often.
Maybe you are naturally charismatic? If that's the case, consider a career in politics.
To better illustrate things, I was given three girls numbers today and had my number requested by several more after a couple minutes of conversation. A guy have me his number too, as well as several people asking about facebook.
Lol@a guy having your number. Anyways are you gay Euda, or at least by-curious? I bet you are; you come across as an effeminate kind of guy on the boards, no offense.
I don't get it and others are pointing it out at a level that's frustrating.
Just say to them, "jealous?" Then promptly turn your heels.
I'm not even looking for anything.
that's it
I am putting you on ignore.

Re: Ok.
It's a simple curiosity. Why do people approach someone? What makes someone approachable? Is it a common thing?
People approach someone because they a) like that person and would like to know him/her better and b) have enough balls to do so.
A person is approachable if he/she smiles a lot, and is relaxed (because it in turn makes the other person relaxed).
There are people who simply look more approachable than others, I don't know the exact mechanism for it but I have experienced this personally. I think it has to do with the level of testetorone circulating in one's blood while one was forming. High levels of testosterone give you more manly/menacing facial bone structure.
Lastly I don't know if it's common or not. Depends on the individuals I guess.

Ok maybe effeminate isn't the right word.
He simply strikes me as too detached, un-involved, and passive. He lacks fire in his soul, in other words.
Not that it concerns me but I bet Euda makes a very unsatisfying lover in bed.

Re: Ok.
I don't have a passion for totse. My passions lay across almost everything that I do, but I've never been passionate about discussion on a forum; though, I can get passionate about the people involved.
The people who know me, know what I care about and what I enjoy. They're well-varied.
It's nice to have care and support from people.
My curiosity has passed. I don't care again and people have accepted things.
