I don't know if it's cause I have been smoking a lot 3 days a week, or if its just because I was sick, but I can barely talk. Can smoking cause loss of voice?

Yeah. It happens to me. If I smoke a lot, or smoke and don't have a drink with me my throat feels like it's on fire and sometimes my tonsils swell up.
I get painkillers from the doctor for it, cause the swelling and pain gets so bad I can't eat food.
I know it's definitely from smoking cigs, I don't have the problem with weed though. Got to be some chemical in the cigs that upset my throat.

And I use a water bong or a vape to make it less dirty.
It can't have too much of an impact....I mean Jack Black sings pretty damn well and I'm sure he tokes daily.

Ive noticed that smoking only affects your voice a lot if you are sick or your throat tender. I smoke everyday and sang in my high school choir with ease, some of the best voices in my choir also toked huge ammounts, as well as smoking cigarettes. Just make sure your throat is healthy and you should be good.
