 Medical Concerns (Heart)
My friend recently had an episode in which he felt dizzy, like fainting, his pulse had gone from above normal to signifigantly below, and (and this is why I'm posting here) he reported that his vision was like the onset of acid. Everything was rounded, and the definition was clear as an HD t.v.
The circumstances:
He's a somker of over a year and a half.
He'd just taken a fairly big bong toke.
He'd been out in the heat for a bit, though he'd kept well hydrated/fed.
He's done shrooms, LSD, Ketamine, and ecstacy....dirty street ecstacy....(though none of these were within the last three months....well, perhaps LSD, actually....no E in a good year and a bit though.)
So, just thought I'd check the opinions of others (and he's checking with his doctor...soon), and see if this wasn't just being pooched from a heat/bong toke combo.

Blood pressure drop would seem to fit the bill.
He has a family history of such problems, so indeed it fits all too well...
I just wanted to make sure that dirty street E or stuff sold as LSD would'nt be the culprit.
But that being said, what might the long-term effects of such chemicals be? Think I'm going to brush up on erowid....

Did he rapidly stand up from a sitting position?
This can cause a bp drop alot of the time. Dizzyness can also indicate high bp though. Did he get a bad headache? That could also indicate high bp. but the faint feeling definetly sounds like low bp. Or maybe low blood sugar? I havnt done much research on blood sugar.
Definetly should go to a doctor though! |

Yeah I've had that happen with the dizzy, fainting, blurry or kinda tunnel vision like. Right after a hit of weed. I've never bothered to check my heart rate though. It has only lasted me maybe 10 seconds tops.
Fuckin' weenie, quit tripping.

Well, even though this condition may be unrelated to drugs it's always a safe bet if you've used them. I mean, if someone came up to me and went "I've been having this uncontrollable anxiety/paranoia". First thing I'd ask is is they smoke a shit load of crack or meth.
What if he was an alcoholic smoking speed freak. I'm sure that'd cause a bit of complications with the heart.
Dunno why I posted this really, just I suppose to say that if someone's used drugs you might as well be on the safe side and check it out. Seems, you're under control though, good luck to him.
