Re: Tums with Vicoden
Makes it easier on the stomach, some people are really sensitive when it comes to pain pills.

Re: Tums with Vicoden
Yes.
Basically, Tums help regulate/neutralize the acidic environment of the stomach. This will help the Hydrocodone to be more readily absorbed by having a longer amount of time to be able to get past the blood brain barrier and into your blood.
Now Tagamet may also be taken, though it's effects help boost those of most opiates not because of the same effect as Tums, but because of the synergistic effect from the same path [as opiates] it takes to your brain.
Hope that helps! Take care and be safe!

That might be true on paper.
But in reality it makes no noticable difference.

Truth.
I think I remember reading somewhere that Tums doesn't really alter the pH of your stomach significantly.

Now that you mention it, I recall hearing something like that several years ago. Something about how, as soon as it does change the pH, your body is triggered to produce more acid to counter act it. It went on to say that the thing to do is to take something that is slightly acidic. That way the pH is changed, but in the other direction. This will trigger your body to stop making acid.
