Default would like a live cd but im clueless....

what live cd should i get im assuming for a noob like me, ubuntu or fedora right? does anyone have a link to a nice distro?

I would recommend Ubuntu for the beginner, If your computer doesn't like it try the alternative text based installed, the Windows based installer that is included with 8.04, or Kubuntu.

Edit: As a beginner, Ubuntu is probably the best distro for help and common questions to be answered quickly.

Fedora 9 whilst using KDE.

Most stuff can be installed via "yum search" and "yum install" so it is easy to use, and it's a million times better than Ubuntu.

Ubuntu Hardy whilst using GNOME.

Most stuff can be installed via "aptitude search" and "aptitude install" so it is easy to use, and it's a million times better than Fedora.
