To avoid this problem either dry your weed out and keep it in an air-tight container, or shove it in the fridge.

Weed generally lasts a few months before it'll go bad. When it goes bad it usually develops mold, goes darker in colour, feels squidgy, and smells rotten. Smoking it is fine, but you'll find it pretty hard to burn and you'll hardly get high at all.

if you store it well (air sealed bag) it should go longer than a few months i would say.

personally it would depend how much it is if i were to keep it.

maybe it would be better for use in cannibutter/cookies etc

You can freeze it too. The strange thing is, it defrosts in about 5 minutes; just make sure you properly dry it, since a lot of the moisture will have frozen, then turned back to liquid when you thaw it, thus, making your weed pretty wet and 'orible. Drying it should solve this.

Freezing weed isn't really that desirable, though, since it will rot much quicker when defrosted (much like anything else you defrost).

Fuck zip lock baggies. For long term storage throw it in a glass canning jar or baby jar or if you have the equipment... vaccum seal it and throw it in the freezer. You shouldn't really see a potency loss doing that.

If you dry weed fine, and freeze it in water-tight bags, I doubt there'd be any problem at all with increase risk of mould when defrosted. Hmmm. Never heard of that. I know people who have frozen ounces of cured bud and it's always been fine afterwards...

If your weed is mouldy though, DO NOT smoke it, it's risky getting mould spores anywhere wet and warm like your lungs. There have been cases where the unlikely, but obvious have happened...... yes, internal organ mushroom grow kit living being. Great.

Generally old dry weed is fine though, it'll still get you high probably.

I've found weed floating in the pockets of a jacket I hadn't worn in a year or so and I still got somewhat high, although I can't say it was a pleasant smoke though. Just keep it in a jar or freeze it and it'll keep for quite a while.

The only shit I wouldn't smoke is mouldy shit, it looks like any other mold, some white some blue, some green even, usually white, if you got mold, then throw that shit out, dont even try to save any, its not worth a lung infection. Other than that I'd say your good to go.
