Younger Girlfriend Troubles - PART II!
So if you haven't read my other thread (which you probably haven't), I'm a senior in high school WHO WAS GOING TO date a sophmore whos a week less than 2 years younger than me. Her parents won't let us date due to the age factor, although they've never met me.
So today she tells me that she doesn't want to be in a relationship based around her seeing me behind her parents back. Okay, sounds logical. I don't have a car anyways, so its not like I can pick her up and sneak her off to places. I'll just go talk to the parents about it.
Nope.
She informs me that she seriously, seriously doubts that doing so will have any effect on her parents position, no matter how awesome I act in front of them. WELL SHIT, NOW WHAT?
So shes not going to see me behind their backs, and I can't change her parents decision to not let her see me. What the fuck am I supposed to do now? I can't think of any alternatives, so I'm seriously thinking about just calling it quits, because I'm not fooling myself into thinking I can have a relationship with someone I can't even see every now and then. Help pl0x. kthx
THE FATE OF MY RELATIONSHIP IS ON YOUR HANDS, TOTSE (uh-oh.).

Re: Younger Girlfriend Troubles - PART II!
find a new one, its not worth it. youre in high school. theres plenty of gorgeous girls around, younger and same age, who will date you and who have parents that will be ok with you dating them.

This is the point where you call it a day. Trust me, there are times when it is prudent to abandon a cause, and this is one of them.

'Cause he was hoping we would give a different answer. But I agree, shes a lost cause. No point in flogging a dead horse.

I bet her parents don't care at all. She just hates you and doesn't have the heart to say it.

Re: Younger Girlfriend Troubles - PART II!
Retarded replies aside, your only option is to speak with her parents anyway. It may be possible she's exaggerating, and that it could be possible to talk them around to it. Tell her you want to try anyway, again. If she doesn't let you try, well, she's the one who failed.

Re: Younger Girlfriend Troubles - PART II!
You don't have any good options man, it's over before it ever started.
This sounds like a bona fide case of using parents as an excuse. You've never met them, so it's the best excuse for her to use as it covers her bases. She's under their authority so can't question "their" decisions, you don't know them so don't know how they actually feel, and it's definitely enough of a reason that the relationship can't go on. Sorry to say it but you have to cut your losses. It sucks, I know, I'm in a similar situation with a girl who I know I can't have a real relationship with and all that for similar reasons but don't fool yourself into thinking it's possible.
Anyway the two things you could do. One option is to try and keep her as a hookup buddy, give her a lot of space, and stop all talk of relationships and all that. Basically friends with benefits type of shit.
Option two is to dump her the epic, redeeming way. Go out of your way and talk to her parents at a time when she can't stop it. Most likely you'll find she was full of shit on the whole parents issue, they'll be concerned about her doing drugs and failing school, not a boy that's 1-2 years older than her. Then bring that up with her, let her know she's full of shit, and let her down hard. No hookups later but much more fulfilling and gives you closure.
I guess option two b is if the parents line she used ends up being true, tell her it's just not the right time/situation and that you did everything in your power for the two of y'all to be together but it's not going to work. Just end it on your terms and you won't be as down as if you let her just kill it before it starts.
Honestly though, as much as I hate to say it, the reason she's so adamant that you won't change her parents' mind is that they don't even think what she wants you to think they think. They might not know about you, might not care, might even approve entirely. But this is a situation where you should probably not call her bluff, and bow out. Otherwise if you do go talk to her parents you run the risk of being labeled as obsessive, psycho, etc.
