I feel awful
There's this guy I've been talking to on msn for a while. I really, really, really like him, but he doesn't like me back. He's made it very clear he doesn't want to date me.
I just blocked him a few days ago, because I felt that I needed to "quit" him cold turkey. I didn't want to go on liking someone who didn't like me back, it'd just be too hard. Besides, I fear that the longer I stayed in touch with him for, the harder I'd fall for him (he's got an AWESOME personality). So, I did what I thought was the best thing.
Yet I feel absolutely awful. Like, really awful. I know it sounds cheesy but it's true: my heart is crying out for him. It's telling me to unblock him, to go seek him out. I don't want to be without him. I just want to talk to him again so badly. So what I fall for him even harder, and he won't reciprocate the love? Can it possibly get worse than what I am feeling right now? I feel just awful, like I am going through withdrawal. I went and read our chat log (I save our MSN conversations) and it was like, talking to him just felt so right to me. I don't ever want to stop doing it. Furthermore, I don't want to HAVE to stop talking to him. Can something that feels this right really be bad for me?
What should I do, Totse? People always say follow your heart. Should I really? Should I unblock him?

Re: I feel awful
Do you know him in real life? It's really fucking easy to become infatuated with someone online and obsess about them. It may seem like a big deal, yeah.
I suppose it makes a difference whether or not you see him "in the flesh" as it were. Sitting at home with your heart thumping every time "the one" signs into msn is a feeling many of us can relate to. I find it's usually some weird internet crush when for once you find someone who you can actually relate to.
I do think that cutting them out of your life by blocking them is a bit unwise, you'll just want to talk to them more, and they'll think you're being rude, or avoiding them.
In the end, if it's just an online thing, you may well wonder what the fuss was all about.
I have had a relationship conducted mainly online, so I'm not entirely without a clue.

Re: I feel awful
Wow if he's told you he doesn't want to date you, than chances are by talking to him and trying to get him to become attracted to you is just going to annoy the hell out of him.
Believe me just stop thinking about him. When you think about him tell yourself not to and go watch something on youtube/listen to music/totse w.e Its not hard, it may feel like you're not getting over him but just ignore that feeling. Delete the chat logs too. You'll be fine in like a week

First of all let's clear this up once and for all, are you honestly a man or a woman?
If the guy said he isn't interested, then you need to GET OVER IT! If that means blocking him, and not contacting him, then do it. Stop making excuses, if the compulsion is that strong that your own will can't control it, then you might need to seek professional assistance.

I could not have put it any better myself. A lot of us have been there, the four gods of Pi know I have, but it's something which once you beat it, like any addiction, makes you stronger.
You do feel guilty when you block them because, you know, you love them. But if it's not reciprocated, you have to get over it somehow. Cold turkey is one way. Don't feel guilty, you're doing this for you.

I tell you I don't have a girlfriend, and automatically you assume that I would be willing to talk to any girl willing to talk to me? In essence, I am asking what exactly you hope to accomplish by talking to me on msn?

haha I see. Well I didn't mean to imply that you would jump at the chance to talk to just any girl. I was just being straightforward, to the point and not wasting time. I assumed that you would want to know me, because you seem a friendly, chatty person.
By talking to you on msn I hope that maybe we can become friends or even more. You never know.

I'm not saying you are just any girl, simply I don't know you. Why so straight forward? I think it would be better if we were to just slow it down...take our time. :P

Of course I have preferences. I mean, don't you have a preference when it comes to guys? I would never list out a standard for someone to try and live up to...
There is no way for me to tell whether or not I like a girl, without talking to her. Let's just say I emphasize other qualities besides strictly looks. However, if I am not attracted to the girl, there is nothing her personality can do. :-)

I once did the internet thing, it was kinda a joke with me but the other girl took it seriously.
Four years later and a tramp stamp with my name and I told her the truth.
I wrote an article about it over at www.dumbbaby.net a few years ago.
Heres the link:http://www.dumbbaby.net/a/139.shtml
It's a funny read to me.
WaN, got a pic? Beacause that would put a lot of it into prospective.
