Arrow Why won't Fedora 9 let my screen use a decent refresh rate?

So today I installed Fedora 9 on my PC, good choice etc etc I know thanks, anyway, at first it wouldn't let me have a decent resolution, only some shitty one, so I updated the drivers using yum and that sorted that problem out, but when I go to System --> Preferences --> Hardware --> Screen Resolution it won't let me set it to anything above 60Hz, and when I do the screen just goes black and nothing happens and I have to reset

Any ideas?

Are you sure your monitor can handle different refresh rates? If its turning black if you change it, that's probably the case...

I don't know. Somehow it's just at 85Hz now.
