Default Addiction or craving?

Well to start off everywhere I look addiction and craving are almost one in the same. Google defines Addiction as an uncontrollable CRAVING,seeking, and use of a substance such as drugs or alcohol (last time I checked alchy is a drug), and the define craving as an intense desire for some particular thing.

So if we go by the second definition then I am addicted to Pizza King pizza ,girls,cars,air,life and the list goes on. But the weird thing is no matter how many cravings that I have Im still not addicted to any of the above, but the definition would make me belive otherwise.

So I am looking for some input from some other "Cravers" what do you think about this? So from what I have read anyone who hase had a craving for anything be it food, air, love, or just companionship is an addict. So I say that we Indulge and embrace our "addictions" and do it and life to the fullest and try to get the word out that craving and addiction are two totally different animals.

So my fellow Totseans try and manage youre addiction to air and the other essentials to life before they put you in rehab. And the next time someone says your addicted say no its just a craving that I have frome time to time.

I'm not reading that fucking bullshit. Use paragraphs. All I caught was something about oxy.

Addiction = NEED.

Craving = want.

You're not fucking addicted if you have to ask.

And craving is also known as psychological addiction. It's not the fucking same as real addiction.

ALL I SAID WAS BREAK IT INTO PARAGRAPHS!!

Go back in, and hit enter every few lines. Is that so fucking much to ask? There's a difference between not having grammar, which is true of most posts but kinda comes with the internet territory, and formatting your posts like a 2nd grader.

craving and addiction are two different words, with different meanings man. almost as hilarious as the people who interchange addicted and dependent...

cravings are a normal part of life, food, drugs, activities.

I would say a craving is where you want to do a substance but can resist that craving... It becomes an addiction when you can no longer resist the cravings on a regular basis and actually need (or think you need) the drug.

You are dead wrong. Addiction is not craving. Granted craving is part of addiction. But what sets the two apart is that with addiction, your body actually needs the substance and if it doesn't get it, it goes through very real and unpleasent pain.

if u have to ask ur not addicted

and you are addicted to air.. try to stop yourself from breathing some for a couple minutes and watch what happens, you will start breathing in the biggest amounts of air you possibly can because you NEED it

I didn't read the entire OP because you didn't paragraph it...

To the OP: I just edited your post to make it readable.

I put a space after all punctuation and broke it into paragraphs.

Like Spiderman say: Everybody gets one.

Next time you make a long post that is too hard to read like that, I will just lock it.

I think the craving part falls along the lines of a psychological addiction, as in liking a feeling so much that you want it again (ie bud smoking). A chemical addiction, however, is when you body accomodates for having a drug in its system, causing you to physically need the substance to function (see: opiates)

Psychological addiction = your mind WANTS the drug

Physical addiction = your body NEEDS the drug
