*Does S&A need new/different Mods?
In one of my previous posts I questioned the system that Moderators hold themselves to and what I thought that system should be when electing new ones.
Jackketch requested that I create this thread to see what the community thinks about the current moderators and how we should determine if we need new ones.
I'll just copy/paste the main parts of my previous post and I'd like to see what you guys think...
"I always assumed that the Moderating Position wasn't a permanent one.
As you grow old and stale with the forum topics (sort of like being an old married man with children that have already become adults and can only speak from past experience that happened in a different generation... making his current input on topics at hand obsolete given that he himself is, in fact, obsolete) then the community begins to voice their opinion and a new moderator is selected."
The problem that we are facing now is that the Mods have the power to silence anyone who speaks out against them (as mentioned before, apparently Zok has given Mods full rights to "Rule as they see fit").
I'm going to go ahead and assume that this thread is immune to that rule. If you honestly have a problem or poor opinion, feel free to post it in here.
Just to rehash the topic.
Do we need new Moderators and why? What do you think of the current ones?
My opinion; I think Yoyobek is tad emotional at times and us, as a community, shouldn't suffer because of it. I think it would be great to get a fresh mod that can balance the moderating in this forum. The current mods get a long too much. There's no outside thinking going on... if that makes sense.
Besides that I think the mods are ok... As long as they remember what &TOTSE stands for.
Note to Jack - If you want to edit the description or sticky the thread, go for it. It's pretty late, so my thoughts aren't very sharp.

Re: *Does S&A need new/different Mods?
Well, the whole what? Year? I've been a member here, I would say no, I don't think we do.
Well...
How about one new moderator? That should balance it out and make people stop bitching about the current administration I think.
Someone new and such.
I say we have a vote!
Conditions would be Member for at least a year, post count over 150, ratio over .5, and good grammar and spelling.
That way it's not someone who's been here for-fucking-ever, and it's not an Acolyte either. Someone who posts at least three times a week and is usually active on the forums.
Anyone agree or is my idea just a giant bag of douche?

Re: *Does S&A need new/different Mods?
I definitely think we need some new Moderators, or at least some fresh blood. I don't really think someone's opinion can be obsolete, or their ideas stale and bland. I however am tired of seeing the same shit, yoyobek running around leaving her rag markings everywhere.
Other then that I could really give a shit about Moderators, as long as they don't edit or delete my posts. I'm cool.

I think the current mods are doing a good job of moderating S&A. However I am noticing that I am not finding the mods remarks as funny as they used to be.
Ohh yah don't forget any new mod must have a good totse approved sense of humour.

This isn't a democracy so it doesn't matter much anyway.
but jack gives out good advice sometimes, although his journal-entry posts get old. but i don't think yoyo has any expertise in the field of sex and affection and should not be a mod here.

Nope. Although I don't always agree with the mods' decisions, I think they do a great job and S&A is one of the best moderated forums on Totse.

Emotional?!? Me?!! FUCK YOU!!
*infracts entire forum*
There are some mods, such as Jackketch, who are far too valuable to lose. S&A would suffer his loss in the same way OI suffered from Sambobs removal. It would be bad.
Considering, thread starter, you posted this specifically in S&A, is it safe to assume that you want to be a mod of this forum and you're hoping to replace one of the old mods yourself?
Post quality threads, try to help people a bit and be here more. Moderation isnt like government, you dont have to assasinate someone to take their place.

Wires did none of that.
I have nothing against wires, when she posts it's good, but she barely does, and she never was an S&A regular, and still isn't.
I don't think she, as a 'foreigner' should be modding here at all.
----------
As for the rest of you scoundrels/mods, you all contribute a lot to this forum, and I can see why you have your place. A couple are pretty inactive however, maybe they're jaded by this place, maybe IRL.net has gotten in the way, I dunno, but if you're not active I don't think you should be a mod.

Obsolete?
Maybe.
But have a look at this ...
http://www.totse.com/community/search.php?searchid=426202&pp=25&page=3
Any of those threads sound familiar? Recognise any of the topics?
Some of those are over 5 years old. Unfortunately the search function only goes back that far. But if it went back 10 years you'd find exactly the same threads.
" DO Gurlz masterbate?"
"Is this Gay?"
"Is she pregnant?"
"Where do I meet girls"
"OMG! What do I say to her"
etc
etc
Ad nauseum, forever and ever Amen.
Now back when i was a teen we didn't have the interwebz but guess what, we still had the same questions, the same worries.
You see, the more things change the more they stay the same cos unless you know otherwise little boys still have a penis and girls a cunny.
(Infact , as I have shown a couple of times here, it was the same 2000 years ago.)
Yeah these days you crazy kids have things we never dreamed of, like The Morning After Pill, for example.
But guess what?
We now have more unwanted pregnancies than ever before.
Why? Because people are fucking stupid and that don't change.ever.
Another example, back in the late 80's AIDS happened. We were all shit scared of catching it. The whole Safe Sex campaign later and 20 years on, people are still managing to contract HIV through unprotected sex.
So you see, just cos a lot of my experiences happened before some of you were born, don't make no difference, no how.
The problem that we are facing now is that the Mods have the power to silence anyone who speaks out against them (as mentioned before, apparently Zok has given Mods full rights to "Rule as they see fit").
Which is why this thread is important. S&A'ers must feel free to say what they want and I (and the other mods) need to be even more careful about what we close and why.

Re: *Does S&A need new/different Mods?
What would new mods possibly do?
Take a look at what aspects seperate 'them' from 'us'
- They can close or move threads
- They can edit posts
- They can infract/ban users (not other mods)
- They can rape flood control (????) ...I haven't been affected since I became a regular again
- They can make 'official' threads
- They can sticky threads
- They can use the mod and admin forum
...They're also supposedly someone worthy to listen to in the forum they moderate.
Refine that down and you don't have much...Make a good thread and it may as well be official, have a popular thread and it may as well be a sticky (it sits towards the top right? Can anyone say bump?), make good replies and you get a good name for yourself....mod or no mod status.
Besides that they address misplaced threads, close obvious crap or clone topics, edit shit that "could get totse in trouble" and chinflap in the mod and admin forum about nothing of importance.
OI suffered from Sambobs removal. It would be bad.
I'm sorry to reiterate what I stated above but sambob can do everything he used to do, just without the power he crawled to the admin for that particular forum...just as I can in the forums I used to moderate.
sambob's power trip was taken from him and he no longer has the time for the place (when he was mod he'd continually say how long he had been a member here for).
Says a lot for the dipshit...

Oh and the mods should be able to respond to difficult posters like fast food employees respond to difficult customers.
I'm not saying it's required, because let's face it, this is totse. But the mods should be mature enough not to make posts insulting other members like so.
I mean, you have the power, isn't that enough?

Re: *Does S&A need new/different Mods?
No new mods. I just think we need less of them.
I love the mod system at present, but I think some don't belong. It's not about "beef" or a "grudge," but I think some of the new blood don't belong here. Mods need to know the rules, but they also have to be knowledgeable about relationships and sexuality. As far as I'm concerned, some of the new people aren't at all.
Wires, I like you. You're a nice girl. However, I think that just because you're nice and kind of cool doesn't make you an authority here. As a matter of fact, I think a lot of the women in positions of power got there by having a vagina. Yoyo's threads and responses don't seem like they come from someone who's experience has taught her. They seem to come from someone who, like me, is still learning.
As for people I like to refer to as "the originals;" 'Ketch, Psycho, and Mojo: you do a wonderful job, and I think you could run this wholly without Yoyo and Wires. They're new, they're inexperienced, and I don't think they do their job.

I must say...I agree. I find Jack's posts to be well thought out and reasonably accurate most of the time, and contrary to the initial poster, I feel that someone with a lot of life experience is infinitely useful in this sort of forum.
I msut say though, I have never really seen Yoyo be a fantastic mod. I find her to be mediocre at best, and I do agree that she's really only got the position due to her gender.

I'm gonna go ahead and assume you can't read very well.
I was requested by Jack to start this thread... as I mentioned above. The reason he asked me was because of another post I made here;
https://www.totse.com/community/showthread.php?t=2131125&page=2
If you would take the time read the threads instead of hastily hitting the reply button because your knickers are in a twist you see that I didn't even hint to nominating myself.
I not only didn't nominate myself, I offered up someone else as an example.
Would I take a mod position?
I would have to think about that. I rarely post in S&A anymore and I'm not sure if I would actually want to take the time out of my day to do so. Only time will tell.
Obsolete?
Maybe.

Link doesn't work.
I don't need it though, you're right. There are always standard questions that will always be asked by shy, awkward, fresh teens. The expertise of an old wise man such as yourself can be helpful... but then again, the questions have been answered so many times you would think a simple copy/paste would suffice for a reply/solution.
I'm not attacking you personally, Jack, I just think that with my way of selecting Mods... At least one will be more adept to the current generation.
Isn't &TOTSE registration closed? I haven't checked in a while, but if that's the case then we're losing members every day. Why would we need MORE Moderators if you have less people to watch over.
Doesn't make sense. If you don't select new mods you could probably due without a couple current ones.

I don't frequent S&A much but I can see that jackketch is an excellent mod, always dropping mad wisdom on our undeserving heads. As Trousersnake said, a lot of what a mod does is robotic crap that anyone can do, the challenge is being a wise overseer kind of chap.
I don't see yoyobek post that much but she is most definitely teh awesome so I'm sure she's also fit to mod.

Well, earlier on in this thread, if it hadn't already gotten to be about all this, she would have closed it without asking. Apparently, because she and Misfit have beef, otherwise I see no reason why this perfectly legit thread would have the need to be closed.
That was of course before it got hijacked.
From the sounds of it, wires isn't even around that much. If she isn't around enough to be a mod, she shouldn't be a mod. Furthermore, mods jobs aren't too hard as far as weeding out the obvious bad threads and users, but it seems that theres one other aspect that I've only really seen in jackketch. That is their wisdom and the really great, insightful, deep, hilarious, whatever advice to the users. I've not seen much of this from yoyo, and I don't think I've seen any meaningful posts from wires, other than closings.
edit: I realize I had forgotten the threads got separated. Oh well.

Seriously, regulars can do anything that mods can do. Looking at the front page of S&A, it looks like all is fine in terms of mod responsibilities (no explicit trolls, no spam, no bullshit, just a bunch of whiny teens and their sex problems). Mods aren't there to contribute (though we all appreciate that they do), they're there to close threads and keep the forum in order. As far as that goes, unless a mod would like to leave, I don't think there's a need for a new one.

It started fucking up the servers causing massive downtimes. Jeff is apparently too lazy/busy to fix this stuff himself. Supposedly there was a plan to open reg back in April, but the plan leaked (Cboys was demodded for leaking it) and nothing came of it .

You don't need to research anything to figure out that you post here rarely, have always posted here rarely, and there are a hell of a lot more posters that contribute more than you.
You need to learn to deal with criticism.

Let me tell you a little story (I'm sure wires won't mind). A while back I asked Root to make the Headshrinkers forum. Euda chose wires for a co-mod, which really surprised me at the time.
I knew wires was an S&A regular (and has been for the past 3years btw) but beyond that, as far as I was concerned, she was a non-entity.
Until I actually took the trouble to go back through and check. Then I quickly saw she was not only a regular but also a very intelligent gifted poster.
When LC left I didn't suggest wires as a mod for this forum. I can't remember now who did but when I was asked what I thought I was happy to agree that she'd make a good mod.
I'll say openly you were also on that list , infact you would of probably have been modded but at the time Mojo was still MIA and it was just me, yoyo and Psycho. We felt for balance that another girl would be good.

Why? Jack made it clear that the stark contrast in my beliefs and opinions compared to his would tip the 'balance'.
And old people tend to enjoy balance.

Re: *Does S&A need new/different Mods?
Basically, you lot have me all wrong. You can either make your own independent and properly informed opinions or shutup.
And Jack, its not true rw would have been modded - do you remember it was then that AM and zok said they weren't adding any more mods?
I don't have to post in every thread to be a presence here. I am on day and night when I'm not looking at something else, and I also mod other things. I've always posted in mostly different forums to Jack, and thats why he didn't really know me. If you take the time to look back at someone's posts, you will probably change your mind about them.
And I can take criticism, but you have not impressed me at all rabbitweed. Your out of the blue comment the other day was absolutely unnecessary and I just can't be bothered with you now. I have done moderating and admin work for years on other big forums -I don't have to explain myself to you.

Re: *Does S&A need new/different Mods?
I've always made it my business to notice worthwhile people.
In helping others to make moderation choices, I've seen quite a few people moved up into the ranks.
Fullcircle took things a bit far, but he was a quality poster and was always willing to raise his voice.
wires has never failed to impress me. I've suggested that she become a supermod. Her and MandatorySuicide have my full support for a position such as that. wires has a lot to offer and totse is lucky that she's willing to offer it.
The personality and experience of wires puts her outside of questioning.
I need not address people personally, but realize that I know wires and that she is above reproach. You can offer anything you'd like in the form of criticism, but it will be groundless.

That argument doesn't hold water with me. If wires was such a contributing poster everyone would already know about it, we wouldn't have to "go back through and check" to realise this, it would be plainly evident.
I'm sure if you went back through and check you could find loads of great posters whose names we've forgotten. Or you could find posters that we know now, that have a presence here, and contribute to a degree that we know they'd be a good choice without Euda having to remind you to 'research'.
Shit, I'll name names if you want.
I'll say openly you were also on that list , infact you would of probably have been modded but at the time Mojo was still MIA and it was just me, yoyo and Psycho. We felt for balance that another girl would be good.
This isn't about me wanting to be mod. This is about me wanting to be modded by one of our own, like we always have (at least for as long as I've been here...whatever happened to deadly cindy).

This thread makes it plainly obvious you can't take criticism, and the fact you still bring it up makes it even more obvious you can't take people calling you out on your bullshit.
I don't care how much you lurk or what you've moderated before, the fact is I've been a regular here for four years and I didn't even recognise you before you became a mod here.
I too have said about all that needs be said.

We don't need five mods to watch this forum. I just think things should go to the way they were. To be honest, you'd make a great mod. Just not here.

Your remarks are unfounded because you obviously know nothing about me at all. That's not my problem - you've just missed me out of the picture.
This forum needs this many mods because we all take certain 'roles' in this forum. I am a more of a normal poster in here compared to say, Jack or Mojo, but I clean up flooding and spam and whatever else at ungodly hours when no one else is about. Once stuff gets deleted, moved or whatever else, non mods can't see it, so it all happens when your eyes are shut, if you get me. This is also one of the highest traffic forums on totse, and due to (perhaps) the emotional nature of some of the stuff in here, trolls and bored kids can get a bit silly.

Do we need 5 mods?
Depends how you define 'need' but personally I've found its really useful. It allows us to take longer time outs than would acceptable on other forums. For example when I got ill a couple of years back or my wife got committed last year.
Sure you could argue that having less mods would simply mean appointing new ones if one fell out for any reason but so far that hasn't worked. Hell Jeff still hasn't sorted it out so the Admins can appoint new mods with full powers.

Re: *Does S&A need new/different Mods?
Wires, the only people that are defending you are other Mods.
To me, it seems like the majority, or at least the majority of the minority on this forum, don't really think you should be a mod... or that we need 5 moderators at all.
I think it's silly that this thread has dwindled down to a "We're moderators and we can vogue for each other" thread. In my main post I hinted fairly strongly that I believed mods should only be mods with the community behind them, and not an "over ruler' type of position.
Jack, you asked me to make the thread. The communities opinions have been stated rather loudely.
I'm wondering if you moderators... as fair objective leaders... will actually take our opinions and "criticisms" seriously, or you're just going to brush it off?
I mean, a lot of people don't agree with some of the moderators choices on leading here (Wires, specifically).
The least you can do is either tell us you're going to try harder or step down.
All this attacking and defending is counterproductive.

Well the 5 mods thing is probably a once off. If one of us goes I doubt that the Admins will agree to a replacement. Although I will ask. Many mods do not necessarily make for over-moderation, as I think this forum has proved.
In my main post I hinted fairly strongly that I believed mods should only be mods with the community behind them, and not an "over ruler' type of position.
I agree, but then again I'm one of the few (if not the only) 'elected' mod on totse. (Incase you don't remember I rode to power on a massive wave of popular support , backed by the the then mods of this forum).
Jack, you asked me to make the thread. The communities opinions have been stated rather loudely.
I'm wondering if you moderators... as fair objective leaders... will actually take our opinions and "criticisms" seriously, or you're just going to brush it off? I can't speak for the others because we haven't discussed this among ourselves but I can assure you I am taking everything said here very seriously.
I don't agree with a lot that has happened on totse recently, as most of you know. I want this forum to stay a place where Freedom Of Expression still means something.

Oh btw , for those who think wires doesn't post, I just checked the figures for the last month.
She had approx 20 more posts than either Mojo or Psycho, 14 less than Yoyo and 30 less than me.
And I'm pretty sure that a lot of her posts were better than mine, cos I like to fuck around a lot, make anti-american comments etc.

Rabbitweed, you know you average maybe a whole ten posts a month more than wires? Thats right 10 posts. So you might want to apologise for this You don't need to research anything to figure out that you post here rarely, have always posted here rarely, and there are a hell of a lot more posters that contribute more than you.
baliente, in the last six months you posted 21 times here. So maybe you should retract that bit about her not being around much.

Re: *Does S&A need new/different Mods?
Note: Sorry to the other mods for not mentioning you, I having nothing against you and in fact actually have praise, but I want to focus this post on Jack.
I remember when Jack became a mod and I wanted him to become one so bad ever since I first stumbled across his posts, before I was even a member here. Before and since I became a member, Jack has made posts that really spoke to me, they let me see things differently or they changed my position on a subject.
I quickly started to view him as someone deserving respect then shortly after, a father figure. Reading his words and listening to his points of view has changed me as a person over the years and I think for the better.
I soon understood where my parents were coming from with what they had to say and with their rules, I learned to show my respect for them differently and began to see them more as friends then as someone "above" me.
Was this solely because of Jack? Of course not, but I deeply believe the impact he had on me played it's part in this transition. For that I am very grateful. Beyond the subject of my parents, Jack influenced my views on relationships, sex, communication and life in general.
I could never pay him him back for the experiences and knowledge that I have received from him or from things I have done that were influenced by his words.
He has been a mentor to me for the better part of four years.
(Yes I lurked for a long time before joining)
I could never see how anyone could want him to cease to be a mod here.
Yes, he is older, and? That only makes the point that he has lived through the experiences younger people are going through now (Yes they are very much the same, and it's not like he hasn't kept up with any new issues) and that he also has the experience of being past it and experiences we have yet to have.
How could we not want opinions and support from someone with such experience?
He has so much to give to this community and when he stops modding, I will be deeply upset.
I know I've said this before, but thank you Jack. I have a father and a good one at that, but to me, you are like having a second father. One with a different style and perhaps a better way of communicating with me. I am sincerely a better person for having just read your words.

Actually it was because Fatkitty seemed to regard me as obsolete/dispute my being here that I asked him to post this thread. He's absolutely right to question me. And I don't want this forum to go the way of others where mods can rule as they like. Why this thread became about you I don't know (and I'm pissed at you for stealing my attention :P).

I like the system the way it is right now to be honest.
I like the fact that we have five mods, all with different ideas and experiences. It also seems that the general concensus is that all are content with the job that we're doing.
What can I say...I love S&A! :D
Just a bitch I haven't been around much lately...Work's been a fucking whore (they made me a fucking manager...ME! Dumabasses.)
But having said that, work's starting to quiet down a bit and I'm looking forward to jumping in a little more often and doing my job here aswell.
And it makes me happy to see that people seem to be happy and comfortable with the forum. Great stuff. :)

Well, if they can lie about who made a poll I'm sure they can pull some 1984 shit on us to make us think she was always posting;)
I suppose it must get her goat that she posts so often yet noone remembers her. So I admit, I was wrong on that count.
But still, you, as one who "rode a wave of popularity", must acknowledge that 75% of mods are mods because they are friends/suck up to a select group of people, not because of what they contribute.
I hope I am wrong about wires and this forum is still an exception to that rule.

I know a lot of mods try and recommend people they think would be good for the forum and not because they get on well with someone.
I recommended both sambob and Lauren for modships (not here) although neither of them are on my Xmas card list. I've recommended kAte for a super-modship even.
And I just know that if we got a 'Child Care And Family' Forum , for example, that Euda would be recommending me for the modship although he has grave reservations about me as a person.
Sure we try and pick people we know we can work with but its a secondary consideration.

Re: *Does S&A need new/different Mods?
For those that don't frequent B & M....I'm the last poster on all of Totse to ass kiss to any mods. I'm pretty blunt when it comes to critiquing the modding around here, and especially the pissant cowardly admins that are Zok and Acidmelt. But I call a spade a spade, and here is a quick take from my viewpoint.....
Nothing is wrong or stale with the modding in S & A. If anything it could serve as a model of how to properly let a forum ride on Totse, hell for the entire internet. Sure each particular mod has their own quirks or even entire bad days...but you'll find that in any organization run by humans they are prone to error and bad judgement. But for the most part, (and this is the most important) they are CONSISTENT. And with that consistency is a general sense of fairness 98% of the time. That 2% (or more) just being whatever human error.
All these peeps dogging Wires are a bunch of fools. You are clearly just going by heresay listening to someone else's whining and butthurt rants. If you spend any time reading her posts you'll quickly discover Wires is one of the brightest of the bunch on Totse...a true asset and important contributor around here. Trying to state otherwise is just exposing your own idiocy and "Totse 90210" juvenile mindset. Grow the fuck up and listen to the wisdom..... and if you can't handle her message then scroll the fuck down.
As far as a "short list" for someday future mods, if Rabittweed is on that list then someone needs to start that list over. That is a profoundly bad idea, and it would be like giving a 1 year old child a hammer. He doesn't have the abilities to use the tools properly, and would only end up hurting himself. Quite simply, he gets way too emotionally distraught and illogical during heated debates/discussions....and couldn't handle the status/responsibilites of the job. Also, I would like to think that a mod somehow somewhat represents at least some kind of cross section or demographic of its forum. As a male myself, I think Jack and Psycho are a great examples of what a "man" in S & A is. Whereas poor little Rabitt just reminds me more of a unsocial twisted little boy with not much world or life experience to back what is really just a milquetoast take to begin with.

Re: *Does S&A need new/different Mods?
Oh and the mods should be able to respond to difficult posters like fast food employees respond to difficult customers.
I'm not saying it's required, because let's face it, this is totse. But the mods should be mature enough not to make posts insulting other members like so.
I mean, you have the power, isn't that enough?
Man, shut the fuck up. Moderator or no Moderator someone needs to tell you to stop being a pansy bitch.
Get off of WIRES' PUSSY! "very intelligent gifted poster." This is just outlandish...
/end of.
Who cares enough to get to know you?
Love how Mr. Nice Guy didn't mention yoyobek. ZING!
Things are not always as they appear
Um, no it doesn't. It needs a moderator in a different TIME ZONE.
I'm not stepping down. I do my job fine.
again, end of
*FINE* is exactly my point. Mediocrity is your goal.

You don't want to be around when He thinks something through in detail...people get their feelings hurt.
I won't say he's a prolific writer but he makes Digital Saviour seem gloriously monosyllabic by comparison.
Anyways, having now flamed half of S&A whats your next trick?

Re: *Does S&A need new/different Mods?
Although 5 mods aren't necessary, some how it came to be that there are. Luckily yoyo and wires have also taken the route of not ruling with an iron fist and S&A is being run quite nearly the way it's always been run. And I haven't had to throw a hissy fit.
And that's what really matters. (That S&A is a speak-easy type of place, not that I am happy) All of the mods have assumed the position of letting this forum be free flowing. And it has to be given the nature of the subject matter. You cannot restrict content in a forum having to do with sex and affection, it would kind of fuck everything up.
In the end, the mods jobs are to keep the forum on track and not let pictures of dead babies flood the forum. We have earned this position by our previous examples of knowing our shit and being trustworthy to have the "power" we do and showing we're not going to abuse it.
I'm sorry that some of you think that wires is a shitty mod, but there's no reason to "demod" anyone here. The forum's going along as it always has and things are stable.

Re: *Does S&A need new/different Mods?
Ha! this was a fun read, I really must visit more often.......Personally I think Ketch ,Yoyo and co do a splendid job and should be aplauded. I mean to log on everyday and trawl through all the bollocks that gets thrown up on this forum must take the patience of a saint, I certainly couldn't be arsed to do it!
I mean they can be sometimes quite rude (Yoyo) and Ketch, well what can I say! but compared to the whingy whining wanabee's who posted on this thread I would say there is more than a fair balance of opinion and also supprising amount of intelligent moderation.
Be grateful for what you have, I heard a rumour Snoopy was back on the forums!

You do realize that one of the main reasons this thread was started was because Yoyo was abusing her power in another thread by simply wanting to close it even though the topic at hand still fell under S&A guidelines. It's been fairly obvious that the reason she wanted to close the thread was because of a prior incident with the thread starter. This lead to the whole "according to Zok, Mods can 'rule as they see fit'"... meaning they have absolute power and can rule solely on their feelings. This wouldn't be too bad for the majority of experienced Moderators like Jack or Psycho...
Yoyo, on the other hand, seems to have an issue with throwing her schizophrenic feelings in to the mix a little too often.
You say that the most important thing is the consistency of the Moderators... But how can human emotions be consistent... Especially a female's emotions like Yoyo's.
Unless you're dealing with Chaos Theory... then there is no consistency. That's the problem we're facing.
Again, I have to reiterate what I said above. The "speak easy" terms of this forum are pseudo-existent. It seems that since the mods have "all the power" and they rule (again) "as they see fit"... then it's not really free flowing.
Again with case of Yoyo trying to close threads that offend her or question her.
Obviously this thread would of already been closed by one you mods if it had been under different circumstances. I'm almost positive that's how this thread will end.
So... Any mods out there decide on how they're taking this criticism?
I'm gonna go ahead and guess that Wires will say something along the lines of "I don't have to do anything, I'm doing just fine".

Unless you're dealing with Chaos Theory... then there is no consistency. That's the problem we're facing.
Please understand...... I know all too well about the shoddy adminning and SOME shoddy modding that takes place around here. I just got off of a ban from Zok since he is so butthurt to read some text or do his job, and he banned me (and deleted my posts) JUST BECAUSE OF CONTENT! So on many levels you are preaching to the choir when you are directing those comments my way.
As for Yoyo......if you look hard enough you'll see I've had issues with her in the past myself, and we got by those differences via email. I personally think she does have a very interesting, helpful and unique perspective on many things dealing with S & A. As far as her modding goes, I think many posters put way too much bite behind her text. I just don't see her being THAT damaging of a mod, and if a poster has enough fortitude/effort in their heart they usually can get the last word in against her. Kinda like a bigger dog having a louder bark kinda thing.
As for questioning the consistency around here, you really need to explore other forums before you put S & A under a microscope to such a degree. I mean really, would you want a Meta here who has modded willy nilly for literally years.....locking shit that one user posts and allowing the exact same topic that a different poster puts up? Yes the mods of S & A are far from perfect.....but comparing them to many other forums with nazi type mods that are clearly modding for the ego stroke and nothing else, this is a veritable haven of tranquility vs. many of the other forums on Totse where pissant mods and butthurt admins treat those sections as just a private sandbox to play power trip games every day all day.

I'm not so sure that we really need any replacements. Yeah, some of our mods have their... "regular" moments where they argue with other members or get pissy about small things. But you know what? Last I checked, we rarely get shitstorms of spam or clone threads, so I'm fine with the current lineup.
The day that S&A turns into HB will be the day I change my stance on this.

I don't see any problems at all with mods getting shitty at people, as long as they don't use their ueber mod powers to pick on that person.

I don't really see it as a problem unless it turns on the excessive side. I personally hold mods to a bit of a higher standard, and I would expect them not to get into petty squabbles that some of our trolls are known to have. I haven't seen that, so no harm no foul.
