Briefly immune to alcohol
I'm a lightweight. I rarely drink and when I do I rarely take it to excess. However, my college recently took an educational trip to Athens. This involved visits to many different bars and extremely cheap off-licences.
The first night, we got pissed - REALLY pissed! It was great. After that night, unfortunately, I was unable to get drunk. I put down four times as much as anyone else in the room, including the tutors, and felt no effects. I ended up looking after some girl who had drank way too much and was concerned about mixing hair with stomach acid.
I tried again the next night with the same degree of success. After this I realised I should stop for the sake of my liver and future mental health (that one really can't handle another battering, what with my alreadt disjointed perception of reality).
Luckily, a party a few days ago showed that I am once again subject to the toxicity of alcohol. Though it came on slowly, I was soon thoroughly inebriated and somehow making out with a girl (not very well as I could not discern the positioning of different features). I'm only 5'9, 11 stone, with a very high percentage of muscle. Coupled with my fitness level, this should mean that I have a fairly fast metabolism.
Sorry for the long post, but I would like to know if anyone can explain this sudden immunity, or if they have experienced anything similar.
P.S. When this came on, I genuinely was not drunk. It is sometimes difficult to tell, but everyone else agreed that I should have been on the floor. I was completely in control of all of my faculties and was able to hold ordinary and articulate conversation.

Re: Briefly immune to alcohol
I don't think alcohol tolerance goes up that quick at all. It was probably just behavioral tolerance.

That does sound like a plausible answer...alcohol is generally put in the mouth and then the stomach, yes? This is just my understanding.

Re: Briefly immune to alcohol
Possible answers:
1) Someone put amphetamine in your drink
2) You where actually drunk but you're an idiot
3) You made this entire thing up
4) You're definition of "pissed" is 2 beers
I'm guessing the latter of the four
