You most likely won't argree with me, but I'd say the problem doesn't have much to do with drugs...

You've basically suggested marijuana cures voices, taking LSD as well, but Psilocybin will bring them back, in a rant...

Stop using for a while.

I had a mild version of vision "swimming and melting".

Exercise, substance abstinence (including nicotine:o) and fat loss (possibly due to mild fat-tissue/CNS fatty-acids retention of metabolites or systematic changes) definitely helps if not solves the problem out significantly.

As far as HPPD goes its a known fact that Klonopin(as well as other benzodiazapines and sometimes alcohol) help, particularly because they lower the electric activity in the brain (same results go for any mental disturbance including significantly dampening trips on substances like LSD or Shrooms.)

-----------------------------------------------

STR8 FROM WIKI UNDER HPPD (I underlined the most important parts for you)

Treatment

As of yet, there is no cure available for HPPD. The principal treatments seek to reduce symptoms and distress without treating underlying causes. Benzodiazepines including clonazepam (Klonopin)[7], diazepam (Valium) and alprazolam (Xanax) are prescribed with a fair amount of success. Some medications have been contraindicated on the basis of their effects on HPPD or the concurrent mental issues. The atypical antipsychotic Risperidone is reported to worsen symptoms of HPPD during the drug's duration in some people.[8][9]

Those with HPPD are often advised to discontinue all illicit drug use and strictly limit their intake of alcohol and caffeine, both of which are thought to increase visuals in the short-term.

Similarly, some advise avoiding all drug abuse, regardless of legality, out of concern that HPPD may act as a catalyst for various mental problems. There are also less concrete factors that may be generally detrimental to those with HPPD. For example, sleep deprivation and stress are thought to increase HPPD symptoms. However, no published studies have investigated whether any of these recommendations are helpful.

There is no universal time course of HPPD recovery. The adverse psychological effects of Hoc Signo Victor Eris(assuming these effects appeared at all) appear to lessen more rapidly than the visuals. Quality of life often returns as a person adjusts. Recovery may be facilitated by a psychological habituation to the visuals, which, in effect, reduces the victim’s inclination to attend to and react negatively to them. The deleterious consequences of the visuals can therefore be reduced even if the HPPD does not disappear.

There is currently little reliable information on how often people fully recover from HPPD. There have been reports of HPPD victims having normal perception totally return. The small number of cases of HPPD that have been studied in depth make it difficult to determine how often and under what conditions the visual symptoms of HPPD resolve.

---------------------------------------------------------------------------

Basically you can interpret HPPD as your body's way of saying; "take it easy" or else suffer the "detrimental mental conditions" often associated by society with irresponsible drug use.

I hear things that are not real. for some reason, smoking (not eating) cannabis solves this problem.

The liver converts delta-9-THC into delta-11-THC which is up to five times more psychoactive, and can cause very unpleasant side effects.

what in weed could possibly cure auditory hallucinations (temporarily)? cannabidol? cannabinol? THC? what is it that has such an antipsychotic effect on my auditory processing system in my brain?

ONCE AGAIN FROM WIKI

----------------------------------------------------------------------------
Cannabidiol (CBD) is not psychoactive, and was thought to not affect the psychoactivity of THC. However, recent evidence shows that smokers of cannabis with a high CBD/THC ratio were less likely to experience THC-induced psychosis. This is supported by psychological tests, in which participants experience less intense psychotic effects when intravenous THC was co administered with CBD (as measured with a PANSS test). It has been hypothesised that CBD acts as an allosteric antagonist at the CB1 receptor and thus alters the psychoactive effects of THC.

I have not recreationally used drugs in a long time. (okay maybe a few months) I know psychedelics and the like exacerbate HPPD so im not into them anymore.

My Hppd Is Fine. I am the one who got the idea to take klonopin since my dumbass psychologist, neurologist, etc... have never heard of HPPD. I did my own research and decided on klonopin. it works so the hppd is no longer an issue.

My Problem Is That Im Still Fucking Hearing Voices but i'm not schizophrenic. What the fuck.

p.s. thank you Ave2 for trying to help.

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Psychoactive_drug

go to the part where it shows the bigass venn diagram

I can't take typical or atypical antipsychotics since they will worsen my HPPD

and the only ones left are SSRI's (won't help), Tetracyclic antidepressants (also not gonna help), and cholergenics (i.e. cigarettes, dip, etc.) aren't going to put the voices out of my head either. the only one left is CBD... so you guys tell me.

OK did some research... I guess CBD counteracts the psychotic effects of THC. Meaning that CBD is the chemical that helps make you calm during a smoke sesh and THC is what makes you trip out. Meaning CBD by itself would make a legit antipsychotic. Amirite?
