Alcohol fucks shit up
Edit: I'm editing this after almost instantly realizing how terribly faggy this post is. The thing that made me go on with this faggy emo rant is my drunken father is basically the cause of my dog that I've had since I was a young kid getting sent to the pound and put to sleep today. I'm really fucking torn up over this. Anyone who's lost a dog they've had for 11 years can understand how it can be to lose them.
Sorry for fagging up this already gay board

Re: Alcohol fucks shit up
man I'm telling you guys, I really miss that dog. I can't even bury him because he's so fucked up. I just have to leave him there to get cleaned up by the damn street sweepers. I even had a place where I was going to put him when he died. This is some stupid shit.

You will get over it, not too long ago my dog died that I had since I was like 1 year old, im 18 now, yeah it lived that fuckin long! When we had to have the vet put her down I wasn't really that sad, because I know that's life, that's the way shit works, you don't have to see it as a sad thing.

Waking up isnt the hard part, it's looking at the person in bed with you.

What did your father say to you after that? Maybe he blame it on the alcohol...

That's one of the unnerving passages of manhood.

Re: Alcohol fucks shit up
You shouldn't feel bad about how you feel. Weird sentence...
Anyway, OWN your feelings, dude. Fuck what people say to you here, that's the beauty of totse, it's anonymous. You can always make up another name and try again if you don't like the rep you've made.
But onto owning your feelings, you posted it for a reason. You're addressing your emotions which is an extremely important life skill. Don't back-peddle and delete your post. Or at least, don't feel ashamed of having feelings. You have right to feel how you feel. The important part is how you react. How you manage the emotions that do come up.
Yes, alcohol does fuck everything up. And maybe, your bad experience with it thus far will halp you make the correct decisions in the future as to avoid something in the future much, much worse then your dog being sent to the pound. Dogs die, an 11 year old dog.. Granted it wasn't his natural time to go, it was going to happen at some point.
That, I think, is the first thing you should conquer, the passing of your dog. Know he's at rest. But the bigger picture is your father. Eventually, I hope you can forgive him and realize that he's not an all-knowing being without faults and he should be expected to fuck up. We all do.
By holding resentment (especially to your parents) all you're doing is making life harder for yourself. I've been there and it's an extremely freeing feeling to forgive the people who have wronged you, even if they haven't asked or feel your perspective of them is warranted. You have OWNED your feelings and resolved the issues inside and that's what counts.
Staying angry, fueling hate, letting something grate on you day after day or giving weight to something from your past, does nothing but poison your future. Give your future life the best shot you can by draining the poison.

Re: Alcohol fucks shit up
I thought he was euthanised at the dog pound?
I've got more than one dog. The one who was euthanised was mine and the other one was my brothers. We wanted to bury those together since they were brothers but we just ended up burying mine. I've forgiven my dad and he's given up alcohol since then. Things are going a lot better around here. I wish that could have happened a better way though.

very true. I know I had to chose my father over my dog and he's changed drastically. He used to work 12-14 hours a day everyday when I was younger just to support me and my brother. He worked so much that it lead to him being wheelchair-bound. There isn't much he could do to stop me from being grateful for all he's done for me.

Re: Alcohol fucks shit up
Being easier on your dad might be good. Parents are pretty sad things sometimes, and they can be childish at times, but he does seem to be working hard to put food on the table. Of course, I've never loved an animal, and coming from two farming families, I believe that animals have to pull their weight as much as anybody else to stay under my family's care, although I realise this is no longer a common viewpoint among many in N. America, and to a lesser extent, Europe.
