Embarking on a kava-kava meditation session, prep and experience as it happens.
Hello, i have recently bought 55grams of dehydrated kava kava juice... which totals 11 servings.
Thats right, juice, the fresh squeeze from the roots themselves not the sandy like tea preparation.
I have previous experience with 1.5 pounds of kava root from Kona-Kava farms.... it went well but i had minor stomach discomfort even after attempting to filter most of the particles through 3 layers of cheese cloth....
This stuff is practically all water soluble.
I just prepped a 2 spoon mixture with 1/2 cup warm water, and 1/2 cup coconut milk.
After stirring for a few minutes it is ready to drink.
UGGGHHH this shit tastes worse then the dry root preparation...

Re: Embarking on a kava-kava meditation session, prep and experience as it happens.
Oh god, i just gaged twice while finishing the shit off.
I washed it off with very strong and bitter tea, from 6 hours ago(the teabags still inside the cup)
my mouth and tongue have now become numb....
i Am making another cup.... "jesus, this shit is unnaturally gross!"...im loathing the idea of drinking another cup of this shit...

I am mixing the cup, as i type this, right now.
haven't seen you post in ages:)
My mind set is rather uninterested in the whole thing, and i have a slight uncomfortable head ace due to the fact of my decreased caffeine intake ever since the end of my college finals.

I've been around just not as much as I once was. Is there a reason you're making such a large amount of preparation? If it's as bad as you say, why not shoot down the dosage instead of mixing it with something flavor-neutral like water?
I'd either mix it 50/50 with tobasco to try to mask it and put it on something or just take it in a shot and chase it with some of that tea. That's just me though, I'm a pussy for nasty tastes. I gelcap up my mushies and still gag from em occasionally.

Re: Embarking on a kava-kava meditation session, prep and experience as it happens.
2nd cup down, not as nasty this time.
Did not instantly grab for the bitter tea to get the taste out, instead my thought process was more like; "yes, this is nasty"..... takes a sip of tea*
Probably has something to do with the numbing effect.
My disinterest in doing this begins to slowly disappear, and i have a 12" LP of some nice electronica playing in the background.
Head space is still on or below threshold

Re: Embarking on a kava-kava meditation session, prep and experience as it happens.
third cup finished about a minute ago.... i still gagged a few times.
My neck and shoulder muscles are unusually loose and relaxed. This seems very nice.
The heat inside/outside that was significantly pissing me off half an hour earlier, has become almost pleasant. And light perspiration from my body doesn't bother me like it did. The perception of the temperature has become nice, a somewhat pleasurable enveloping heat, so to say.
This is complimented by the nice feeling of occasional perspiration droplets rolling of my body, and the significantly noticeable presence of my body's vascular pulsation.
Total consumed:
3 double strength cups of water soluble, condensed kava root juice.
Now I will proceed to undergo a session of meditation.
Ave2 Out....

Sounds pretty interesting, especially the bit about your temperature perception changing. How many grams of substance are prepared in each of your cups? Are you getting eleven doses your way, or the 'recommended' way?

Was it sourced from hawaii? My friend went there and said the root is completely different from the pills you can get on the mainland. He said it was almost like clear drunk type intoxication. What would you describe the effects as?

comparable but has clear differences.... but with any kava there is a point where you are stumbling around due to decreased co-ordination.
Your mind stays much clearer then when drinking though. You also get that slow motion, swerving vision"shaky cam" at high doses.
*note these effects described come from both powder and root kava
Does has alot to do with the effects, and keep in mind kava is like kava, not like any other drug. It is unique.
Excess is not something i would recommend to try doing with kava, find your pleasurable dose.
Store bought pils will never have the same effect, and it would take quite a few bottles and time emptying usually degraded potency kava capsules to get anything.
Never buy the crappy store bought pills if you want a Kava experience.
Also strain/island of origin has quite a bit to do with the effects.

Where did you procure it from, and was it really economical enough to get <2 working doses from it?
Never experimented with kava, kinda figured it to be a bit of bullshit, but if it wasn't too much for the experience I'd try some of this juice you're talking about.
So how was the experience?

I rarely experience unnatural anxiety, but i did note a peacefully calm "detachment".

sorry for skipping/missing your question :)
I rather not advertise companies, and personally find it in poor etiquette to do so.
After examining the jar it looks to be a bit more then half full actually :)
Kratom is more noticeable, and more palatable, in my opinion.
But, from much experience, kratom definitely has lasting, un-pleasant, cognitive, side-effects.

What kind of prices? Was it seventeen dollars-ish for the 55 grams?

Yes, but it comes out to ~ 20$ w/ s/h.
I do not give my personal recommendation of the place, or the product. Yet.
I do have to agree with you, it seems a bit too little for alot.
And i found a small amount of residue/slime on the bottom of the 2nd and 3rd cup, perhaps because i didn't stir as much, or use cocunut milk the last 2 times..... so i had to rinse the cup and gag the shit down...
I am still looking and poking around and trying other things out. :)
My next order will be some
"Kaviar" Kava Kava perhaps from ebay.
But, i have a general distrust for buying stuff from there.
The only reason i bought the product i did, was because it appeared to claim superior water solubility.

Even better way to do it is to mix it with gin, or flavoured vodka, and a bit of water, it goes well.

i think you are right about that. There was a big scare about kava and liver problems a few years back and alot of the kava products were taken off the shelves, atleast around here. Mixing the 2 is just asking for liver problems. If you have liver issues you want to avoid kava because it has been known to cause liver failure in those who are subceptible. if your liver is healthy you should have no worries.

That was a big scam by pharmaceutical companies, and has been disproved.

Liver "problems" are complex and require years of study to fully understand, but kava itself doesn't cause liver problems.
Mixing it with alcohol is not recommended due to the unpleasant side effects that will occur.
