Default She's gone.

Eventually, as enough time passed by I realized that it was over. I decided to stop the madness and just go ahead and cut her out of my life. I deleted her number from my phone, I deleted her from all of my chat systems and I moved across the country. Soon, I'll move to Europe and I'll forget all about her. For the time being: I work in a mall Starbucks, so women are going to be fucking everywhere.

I've decided that celibacy is for religious folk and people who can't get any otherwise, so maybe the quickest way to get over her is to go ahead and fuck the pain away (or something ridiculous.) Maybe take up drinking? I don't know, I'm still young. I got lots of shit I could do besides obsess over her. The point is: I deleted everything even remotely to do with her, and soon my feelings will fade. Hopefully, I can move on now, and find someone better.

Yep. This is true. Feelings will fade with time. You're taking positive steps in your life, so just carry on. Try to be happy and things will get better sooner than you think.

I called this.

I also think I even called the correct time frame. or pretty close anyways.

Well, you're doing the right thing, though drinking is not going to help, again, trust me on that one. Though I think you'll know exactly what to do each step of the way one step at a time about this whole thing.

You seem very self-driven, you'll be fine.

I did the same thing, minus the move across the country. And you know what? The bitch started calling me again. And I must be a fucking idiot because I picked up and she fucked my shit up again. I got it back together, easier that time.

But if she calls you, anytime in the future, remember what it was like, and hang up the fucking phone.

Genius! I can't get any, because I'm celibate.

Or just don't answer. Cut her off completely.

I'd say that's not the best way, just the easiest way. Sure, there's less pain involved, but in the long run you learn nothing, come away with less experience and (most likely) end up repeating the same mistakes.

DONT WORRY ABOUT IT.
Default Re: She's gone.

Did that pretty much before, its tough to forget, but after a while you think about it and it's almost like it never even happened.

Just when you think about the situation be logical and don't get yourself worked up/nervous/anxiety over her.

Best bet is to find yourself another girl, or just meet some new ones where you work(like you said) and that'd be your best remedy. I know it was for me. Shit still comes back and haunts me though. Learn from your mistakes and gain experience.....

To each their own.
It worked out fine for me. Just because you don't wallow in misery doesn't mean you didn't learn anything, you just don't spend all that wasted time hating everything.

smoke some pot
always helps me in these situations. doesnt make me forget about her or take my mind off her, but it gives me a more objective standpoint to calmly examine the situation.
drinking the pain away never helped me much

Hey, I resent that.

I'm doing quite well actually, 89 days! Four have been shot down, only one had embarrassing persistence, the other's played it cool and I'm trying to resist this hot, hot Italian I work with...

..He may be my fall from grace..

From what I've observed people that react to breakups like you do seem to end up making the same mistake over and over again, until they mature up and decide to let themselves get a over a partner.

Because sex is beginning to be very lackluster. After my break up last year I went through a horny-as-fuck phase. I have high expectations and awesome fantasies, then I sleep with the guy that has my very fleeting and temporary attention and I'm disappointed and not impressed. So after I fulfilled all my alcohol and drug induced desires, I calmed down and no longer want to be a slave to my sex drive. Fucking just to fuck isn't satisfactory to me through and through as it once kind of was.

So I've decided that I'm just going to not have sex with anyone for an indeterminate amount of time. I'm going to wait until I find someone who I just cannot resist so the sex, in turn, will be more satisfying, emotionally and physically. I want that mind connection. Not just, "well you're here and I'm horny so let's fuck" thing. It's just not as appealing as it was.

Basically I'm not sleeping with anyone until I feel that raw attraction and I do not fall easily. Plus I think it'll be hook when I finally do find an awesome guy and tell him I haven't had sex for months/years.

Crazy thing is, I don't miss it or yearn for it as much as I did. I've mentally conditioned myself to be self-reliant, that is "click my own mouse" about 5 times a day. It's been working well.

Plus I have a whole bunch of other things to focus on. I don't want to be distracted and I really don't want to inflict my bullshit on anyone else. I want to be on my A game in the event I start talking to someone seriously and right now I'm focused on making ends meet.

And what mistake is that referring too?
I don't jump into another relationship immediately and I've never had a problem dealing with emotional issues that tend to pop up after a prolonged break up.
I just don't see a problem with having a rebound to cushion the fall, as long as the rebound doesn't turn into someone you care about on a deep emotion level.

Most relationships that fail must involve some sort of mistake, or something you can learn from.

Perhaps I am biased because I'm not wired for casual sex...but I think people should learn to face the pain of rejection, loneliness etc that comes with a break up without resorting to a crutch.

It sucks, yes, and you may probably ask "Why suffer needlessly?", but it forces you to take a long hard look at yourself, the way you relate with others and life in general, and IME people that do this seem to have more maturity, character and wisdom than those that don't.
