Thoughts/anecdotal expeirience regarding NMDA [Receptor] Antagonists
Note: I'm sorry to bore, but I felt the need to transcribe these words.
I've come to face a stark reality: one of my undeniably severe psychological dependence to prescription amphetamines, and--as one might expect-- the immense tolerance I've accrued over the time following that initial taste of the sublime.
My final quarter of the year will come to a close within a week, and I'm confident in my ability to wholly abstain in a non-academic environment. I'll be spending the entire span of August-February studying abroad in Thailand, which conveniently entails my sustained abstinence.
My consumption has been inordinate, and frankly, has made me the subject of misdirected worry on part of certain friends. It's quite impractical, bearing in mind my oh-so-finite monthly supply of 900mg, courtesy of the local Walgreens provides no more than two nights of sustained consciousness: I've consumed [due to my dire financial standing] 110 milligrams of IR ritalin, along with my eleven o'clock dose of 250 milligrams of Adderall [40IR, 210XR], and consider this within my personal bounds constituting moderation.
Mind you that I restrain my frequency of said sleepless, depraved bouts within range of no more than once a week-- the occasional week here and there containing two, perhaps three if I'm feeling particularly destructive... or when I so choose of my own accord/nonexistent supplies, a couple weeks of abstinence. As of late, the peak of my consumption-- this latest instance, some two weeks ago, was subsequently followed with resounding sense of emptiness: not the result of depleted stores of dopamine, rather, facing the reality of my "unique" biochemistry which ever so rapidly adapts to any and all myriad substances encountered-- has been in excess of 500+ mg within the span of no more than 30 hours.

FOR THOSE AT ALL OPPOSED TO A) MY VERBOSITY or B) TO THE DENSE BLOCKS OF TEXT:
NMDA RECEPTOR ANTAGONISTS
Naturally, I've taken interest as of late in the potential benefits of NMDA antagonists-- magnesium, disassociatives, and the like-- in the short term, staving off further amassing of tolerance, and in the long term, a gradual reduction of tolerance to a point within a more ideal realm.
Might anyone have any personal experience with said supplements? I've been taking magnesium on a daily basis for the past three weeks or so; prior to the current "binge", I hadn't consumed any stimulants since last Friday, nor had I taken a dose worthy of full "tweak" status-- exceeding the ever-shifting line demarcating and constituting my threshold from mild-stimulation... as opposed to the place where I currently reside.
The tweak I now know, an increasingly vapid experience; I'm well aware of the fact that one's first handful experience with such psychotropics, especially so in the case of stimulants, are both unprecedented in magnitude, and tragically, fleeting. A convoluted abbaration of what I once knew, my fruitless efforts in attempt to grasp the beautiful, simply sublime feeling I initially described as "synthetic bliss"... making my steep ascent without a pinnacle in sight-- all from a 60 milligram dose.
I apologize in advance-- I'm cognisant of the fact that this site isn't my diary, but I typed this out in hope of advice through anecdotal tales. I now reside in a purgatory of my own device; I never thought I'd find myself here, and although I'm confident in my ability to overcome this minor issue, find it hard to fathom what I've become-- and oh, throughout these frantic nights I've learned so much about myself, gained insight as most never have nor ever will, and have lived through the breathtaking highs, and conversely, the lowest of lows [in relative terms, of course].
