Accutane + drugs = ???
I'm tired of having crappy skin so I'm seriously considering going on Accutane again...But I'm worried that taking it might hamper my illicit drug use due to dangerous interactions. So of course I'm coming here for expert advice :).
Does anyone know of any dangerous interactions between Accutane and recreational drugs? I'm thinking of MDMA and cocaine in particular. I've done some quick searches which haven't really turned up anything, only contraindications with legal shit.
I'm taking dexedrine right now, and my dermatologist knows that and didn't mention anything about it. Is it a fair assumption that MDMA is okay as well? As for coke, I have no idea.
Also, the Accutane literature states that you should "avoid alcohol while taking this drug." What exactly does that mean? No drinking at all? Or is it okay to get drunk just not that often? I'm pretty sure I got drunk at least once when I was on it the first time to no ill effect...But I can't really remember.
Anyway, thanks in advance for the answers.

Accutane will ruin your life. Don't do it. Please try other methods. Being dry for the rest of your life fucking sucks. Seen.

You should ask your dermatologist if MDMA will damage your skin.

Re: Accutane + drugs = ???
I'm not sure how old you are, but based on what I've gathered over my totse membership, you're almost done puberty aren't you? If so, accutane won't do what you want it to, you have to be like 13 for it to work well.
The advice you don't care to hear is: stop caring how you look. Seriously.
If you are so vain, you can cover up the hideous scars of acne with makeup. But you don't have to be so, and don't have to go through the hell of accutane, which probably won't even achieve what you want it to anyways because you already have had the acne for quite some time.

DO NOT FUCKING DRINK ON IT.
Goddamnit.
Oh and avoid anything liver-intense, like long-chain anabolic steroids or anything that needs to get metabolized by the liver intensively first.

That pretty much covers all drugs that are taken orally and other routes.

Meh, long-chain steroids are especially harsh. Alcohol can't help.

I drank on it, probably was no good for me, but no noticeable harm ever came of it either. As far as coke and MDMA, no clue.

Re: Accutane + drugs = ???
It really dries up your nose, so probably best to avoid putting anything other than vaseline or neosporin up there unless you like nosebleeds.

Re: Accutane + drugs = ???
I drank A LOT while I was on it. Every month or so the doc's are suppose to give you a blood test to make sure all your enzymes are working as they should, as long as all those check out, there's no worry. PS: My liver is fine.

Re: Accutane + drugs = ???
I've already been on it and it was a fucking miracle. I had perfect skin for five months and it was well worth the side effects. I just got rashes on my arms and my lips were really dry. Annoying, but definitely tolerable since I didn't have to worry about my skin anymore.
The major issue for me is the oiliness of my skin. The acne is relatively easy to cover up, but the grease makes the make up melt off within a few hours. I'm the greasiest person I know. I had a shower this morning, and yet my hair is so oily it looks wet right now. Whereas my boyfriend can go a week without showering and he might get a slight sheen on his skin, but you can't even really tell. Normal people don't have to shower every single day, and if I wanted to keep the oil in check I'd have to shower 2-3 times a day. Which I don't bother with, cause having to shower even once every day is annoying. Sigh.
Anyway, I'll stop bitching about my grease now. So no one knows about the coke/MDMA? I don't want to have this conversation with my dermatologist, and I'm pretty sure he would recommend against doing hard drugs even if there aren't any issues with interactions.

I've been on it for the last 6 months and really I've gotten PROFOUNDLY drunk probably.. 20 times, and a little drunk many others, to no ill effect, plus i've been smoking weed, haven't missed more than 10 days in the past 6 months. i'd say you're ok if he let dexedrine slide, however he probably doesn't even consider the fact you could be using higher doses.
EDIT: The only thing that really blows dick about Accutane is the dryness of the lips and for me, i dunno about anyone else, but I get horrible nose bleeds. sometime in april my nose bled for like 2 weeks straight, like it was never healthy just "clotted" then as soon as i wanted to breathe thru my nose i'd blow/pick it and the blood flow would start right back up.
pretty annoying shit.
