Yeah, so I'm not quite a noob. I've smoked weed around 13 times and done eccies as well.

But, I can't for the life of me tell good weed from bad weed. I have no way of uploading pics of the stuff I have and I can't find any good examples of prepared weed in a bag.

Could somebody post a bunch of pictures of good, prepared bud as opposed to shit stuff?

Go to fucking high times. There is pictures of weed EVERYWHERE on the internet.

Rule of thumb: If it's full of seeds it's crap. If it has just a few seeds, and the bud looks fairly green, its a little better then crap. If it has no seeds and looks green, and has kief (looks kind of like pollen, or crystals) then its good.

This doesn't apply to all situations. Some crap buds don't have seeds, and I've seen some pretty straight buds have a few seeds. It applies to most situations though.

Don't you have friends that smoke pot? Ask them.

Skunkier the smell, the better the pot. Look for whole buds, and not shake. Less seeds the better, generally. Stickier the better. Dry crumbly shit sucks. Shit with other smells, or ammonia smell, or any unnatural smell is usually garbage.


And please don't say eccies, it makes you sound like a noob. Say MDMA. Etards and little kids say eccies.

Basically, if it's skit (little powdery bits) don't buy it unless you can very clearly see that it's little bits of bud. Generally speaking pale dry buds are better than dark wet buds. Lots of stalk = bad. If it's dense you're gonna get more out of it; if the buds have lots of little wavy leafy bits coming off them you're gonna get less out of it. Stong skunky smells are good.

Just keep buying weed. Your stoner senses will develop over time. You'll learn how different kinds of weed look and smell, and be able to recognise what you're being given as shit you've had before (or at least something very similar to it).

If you're honestly too stupid to be able to tell what looks good and bad, buy it and smoke it and if you're stoned I guess it was worth it. But, look for color, size of stems and amount of seeds, etc etc. Good bud will be nice bright green etc it doesn't take a genius.

decent bud gets you high off a bowl. good bud gets you stoned. thats the best way to figure it out...


mr biggles pictures are it in a nutshell. some great buds are less dense with more pronounced hairs, and some are extremely dense that they're a bitch to break apart...


shitty buds, tend to be mostly leaf. leaf is alright, but its not buds man. stick to buds.

That's just something you really have to learn from experience. I've gotten weed that looks really good and is just OK and gotten gross looking shit that knocks you on your ass. And i've gotten bud that looks great, smells great and is great.

But I do live in BC and all the bud gets you ripped anyways. Just a difference between really ripped and ripped.

it's really hard to tell how good pot is from looking at it. sometimes really sticky, red and dank looking/smelling stuff turns out to not be that good. sometimes dry, weird looking stuff is amazing.

get a decent dealer or make friends with them. make them stop seeing you as some kid who's easy to rip off.

Get someone experienced to take one hit, looking at the bud does nothing. Ive had high times looking stuff that was so mellow that I barely felt it. Usually it's the stuff with a nice sour aroma that does the job. If I take a hit of weed, and I get that 'sensation' in my lungs then I know it's good.

Well that's how it was for me when I started smoking weed, but as you continue buying you'll slowly learn and will meet reliable connections and eventually stop getting ripped off all the time.

Good weed is fuzzy looking, you can see some crystals, the stems aren't too noticeable, there's no seeds at all, and the smell is amazing.

Another good rule is if someone (see: a black man) tells you some weed is 'hydro' there's about a 99% chance its just some no-name kb. For them to know if it was grown hydroponically or not, they would have to know, or be the grower, in which case they'd know what strain it is and call it by it's name instead of sounding stupid.
