Houseguest Gifts?
I'm meeting my girlfriend's parents for the first time, and staying with them for a few days. I feel obligated to bring a gift, as a polite house guest, but I don't know what to give them. I'd bring a bottle of wine or something from this awesome microbrewery back home, but I'm only 20 and her parents are rather conservative in that regard. Other than booze, I'm afraid I'm not sure what a good gift is.

Re: Houseguest Gifts?
Ehh, wrong forum. I think you'd might want to post this in Oral Indulgences.

What? You are giving them a bottle of wine, not the other way round. I mean, what the fuck.
Go with it.

Yeah, seriously. Unless they are elephant-fucking conservative, they won't give a shit. You're only a year from it being legal anyway and you can say your parents bought it for you if they're really bitchy.
You could also go with flowers, or, even better, a plant.

They're going to be the ones drinking the wine, not him.
The whole point of not selling alcohol to underage people is so that they don't drink it, not "just because".
People who forget common sense when interpreting the laws piss me off.

I'd go with a box of quality chocolates.

Re: Houseguest Gifts?
I don't think it's necessary that you give them a gift. They'll just think you're trying to suck up. The wine would be good if you were 21 but I don't think they'll like it because you're underage.

Re: Houseguest Gifts?
If you live in a different area than them, bring them chocolates, or a culinary delight unique to your region. Wine or beer is a great idea, if they like beer, but I understand your concern about their concern. It isn't that irrational of a fear. I vote chocolates... but don't make it gay. Make them enjoyable chocolates that can be busted out among everyone. IE Not romantic chocolates... hope that makes sense....
