Default Don't talk to the police - video by law professor

Very informative on why should never say ANYTHING to the police. If they already have a case against you.. you're done, nothing you can say will help. There's no need to say anything. And there's no need to appear "macho" in front of the police... swallow your pride...keep your mouth shut and only talk to a lawyer.

Rebuttal by a cop, "Officer George Bruch, VA Beach Police Dept."

Yes IFIOTW, but I figured it'd be of more use in BLTC considering well, drugs are illegal, and at one point or another you'll probably find yourself running into LE.

..and trailer to Barry Cooper's "Never Get Raided" (follow up of never get busted) in case anyone's interested.

We're born into this world with 0 knowledge of law. Information like this could be all someone needs to prevent a lifetime in prison for being innocent. Obvious to you, but not to all. Even people who have learned all about our rights as citizens will forget all about the 5th amendment when asked a few questions by a cop.

Keep your trap shut if you're innocent, seal it with a lock if you're guilty.

I remember one thing I learned in forensics class that the teacher emphasized. "Never talk to the police without a lawyer!"

He was a funny jamaican guy who was going through law school.

The problem is that most people don't realize that LEOs is allowed to lie to you. They believe that they'll get let off if they spill because of LEOs playing games with peoples minds. They still think at the back of their minds that the law are the "good guys"

It's also hard to think when you've been caught with your hand in the cookie jar, a lot of people get panicky and start blurting things out thinking that if they're honest and nobodies been hurt that the law won't try to prosecute them if they start spilling.

This is good info to know and pass on.

tl;dr: always shut the fuck up and never talk to anyone without a lawyer. Pretend they aren't there no matter what they say and how badly you're scared/nervous.

When I got arrested, it was for possession with intent to supply (which I was doing, regardless of how small the quantities), but they couldn't find any proof of dealing so I was let off with a caution for possession. In my interview, I would have confessed cos I thought it was best to do so, but my lawyer advised me to 'no comment' everything. If I had confessed, that would have been enough for them to get me on supplying. It's up to the police to prove your guilt with what evidence they have.
