back in high school, a friend told me he tore in half a leaf of a jade plant in his yard, held a lighter to the edge, inhaled the smoke/fumes, and experienced some kind of vague high.

i cant find anything on the internet with any mention of this plant having any psychoactive effects.

If it was the jade plant, I doubt it, however, if you/ or him mistook that plant for a jade when it was really Delosperma nubigenum that could explain it. Because delosperma nubigenum has 5-meo-dmt in it and the leafs look similar. Was the said plant growing on rocky surface?
