Pain from Shooting
Last time I shot meth was like 3 weeks ago, but I used precautions before I did it. Like 4 weeks ago I was shooting heroin that I was thinking really dirty because I shot an entire cap and didn't feel anything. However, I was in my friends living room and had to do it really fast so I just stuck it in, assumed I was in a vain, and shot as the front door was opening(he lives in a trailer with his family.) My arm really hurt and I could feel the heroin in like my arm for a day or two after I did it. It wasn't like skin popping it, it was a lot deeper in my arm. It was bruised pretty bad for about a week but it didn't look any worse than some others I have had.
Now the inside of my arm really hurts from time to time. It kind of feels like my elbow is rusty or something and just hurts bad. There isn't any discoloration or anything visible.
Think this is related? Would it be a good idea to go to a doctor?

If you can afford it/got insurance. It's not like he's gonna tell anyone, unless he feels like losing his license. Worst thing that'll happen is you gotta listen to him bitch about you uh, shooting heroin.
Could be something else though, I got no clue, I don't shoot. Wait for vilbe or stupid noob.

Re: Pain from Shooting
Did you have a bubble form? When i've missed you can see the bubble but your arm will still itch and the bubble goes away in a few hours. See how your arm feels the next couple of days and if it gets worse then go to the doctor.

Re: Pain from Shooting
I've missed shooting heroin a few times and had pretty bad pain for a day or two. I never got bruises from missing though but I did get bruises when I first started learning how to hit myself. I would wait for a day more or so and see if it gets any better instead of rushing right to the doctor.

Re: Pain from Shooting
Maniak182 I don't
But it doesn't hurt all the time, only from time to time so I don't know if it has anything to do with shooting. But it feels like there is a needle in my arm or something and it's been on and off since I shot the gear.

Re: Pain from Shooting
No telling where you actually put it, I can't see it, and wasn't there. Just hope you don't get an abscess. You should be fine though, provided the dope didn't have any nasty contaminants in it, in which case you'd have been fucked anyway.
Just put heat on the bump, keep it on there, and keep it elevated. It will take a couple days to go down, sometimes a week, and will be sore. Don't worry, if it IS infected, you will know it. It will hurt like a bitch to even touch, you will feel drained and just sick and shitty overall, and will most likely swell, you develop fever, etc.
But yeah, watch out for that shit, if it starts to happen, see a doctor, till then, keep it up, and keep it hot, and just don't worry. Remember a good part of recovery from injuries or other things like this is mind set. Do what you can for the problem, and then just chill, no point in freaking out just yet, you will know if something is wrong.
But I also assume since you injected in such an impromptu method that you didn't bother to sterilize anything either.
Injecting is no joke man, especially street heroin. You need to learn how to clean that shit up, get some wheel filters, or some 3 micron filter to clean your dope to get out any possible bacteria.
Be smart about your drug use. Let this be a lesson to you. It is totally possible to form an abscess and lose your fucking arm.

Re: Pain from Shooting
I'm surprised you said you shoot meth and you're worried about possibly missing a heroin shot. Meth (from what I've heard, I'm not 100% positive because there's no meth around western Mass.) is cut with more bad shit than heroin. I guess it all depends on who you get your shit from and who makes it as well.
But wait and see if your arm feels better within a few days and if not then go see a doctor. I'd put Neosporin or any other anti-bacterial, healing cream on the area where you injected if you have some. That stuff has really helped me a lot. Also try washing the area with hot water and anti-bacterial soap or putting rubbing alcohol or hydrogen-peroxide on it.
I wish you the best of luck. Get better!

Re: Pain from Shooting
If you have any kind of anti-biotics like Augmentin lying around then start taking one a day. It'll help it heal and the lump should ease off in a few days.
