Does alcohol make you feel refrfeshed and wide awake after 4-5 hours of sleep?
If I drink then sleep for 4-5 hours I always wake up refreshed and alert, unlike when I wake up after a night of not drinking alcohol.
I feel energized and happy, and have problems getting back to sleep if I want to. It's like an "afterglow."

yes drinking alcohol before bed significantly shortens the time spent sleeping.
any one who has ever had employed the "night cap" method will know that it will cause you to wake up in the middle of the night and rarely be able to fall back asleep.

Yep. If I didn't drink enough to get hungover, I fuckin leap out of bed at the crack of dawn. I use this to my advantage and drink a few if I have to get up really early.

Re: Does alcohol make you feel refrfeshed and wide awake after 4-5 hours of sleep?
Melatonin and 5-HTP combo does this for me. If I take those together about an hour or so before I plan to go to sleep, I always tend to wake up automatically in about 5-6 hours feeling rested and refreshed, moreso than I would had I slept for 8-10 hours with nothing taken beforehand.

5-6 hours seems to be useful than 8-10 in my opinion.

I've noticed myself 'liking' mild hangovers.. it's weird. It feels like I really have my head straight for an entire morning.

I notice this too. I seldom get a bad hangover unless I massively overdrink.
Alcohol - the cause of and solution to all of life's problems.

most likely you are unable to sleep due to the alcohol and still mildly drunk when you wake up, effectively causing the "afterglow"

Glutamate backfires after alcohol wears off but I always thought that it was a bad thing.
