Debian still good? Need distro for Powerbook.
Today I picked up a Apple Powerbook G3 Pismo (400mhz, 64mb ram, 6gig hdd) at a yard sale for 10 fucking dollars! It works fine, I just need to buy a power cord and get rid of the broken OS9 installation. I much prefer Linux anyway.
I haven't used Linux in ages. I used Debian in the 90s and it did everything I needed. Just wondering if Debian would be the best choice today, seeing as there's a million other distros. I know Ubuntu is the savior to Linux, and uses Debian, but Ubuntu doesn't support PowerPC since 6.06. So I figure it'd be better to use the latest version of another distro than to use an old Ubuntu. But I'm terribly outdated in my Linux knowledge, so maybe you guys can help
Should I use Debian, an old Ubuntu, or maybe another distro is better for older powerpcs?
