Re: "There's No Such Thing As A Bad Trip"
Once you're sober and looking back on it, sure.
But i defy you to say that when you're balls deep in a quarter ounce of shrooms (or whatever) and you're convinced you're a huge dissappointment to everyone you love and continuing with your life will only cause them more pain, but killing yourself will too. Couple that with the fact that you're insane and dont think you'll ever be sane again and you feel bad because you're freaking out and you cant stop it and its bringing down the rest of your freinds.
have a bad trip then tell me you dont believe in them.

Re: "There's No Such Thing As A Bad Trip"
I've always had sort of a unique look on tripping because the first trip I ever had by most people's standards was quite negative. I was barely 15 years old and I ended up in a squad car at 4am separated from my friend who was placed into a different cruiser. Most of the rest of my trip was filled with terrifying visions and a very negative mind state.
I felt as though I had underestimated acid and it was now maliciously laughing at me. My friend's ceiling fan turned into a skeletal ribcage with a long black arm reaching out towards me, and no matter what I did or how much I told myself it wasn't real it only kept reaching at me. I will never forget that image as it was probably single scariest thing I've ever experienced on any drug.
However, as night turned into morning and the drug slowly began to wear off, I had most incredible feeling of relief and survival. The terrors of the night faded and I experienced the most beautiful sunrise I had ever seen. This encapsulated the essence of psychedelics for me. Ever since that day, I have viewed tripping as a sort of horrific experience that I must fight my way through to survive and then grow as a person because of it.
I have since that day had countless trips that were perfectly amazing fun all the way through, but I have never stopped thinking of the psychedelic experience in that way. Even that night when I was terrified I never really viewed it as a bad trip, just an intense journey. So yes, I don't really believe bad trips exist, because a lot of tripping to me is dealing with really frightening things. All of my trips are filled with very scary and dark imagery but I have come to find it incredibly beautiful and spiritual.
