So i have recenently gotten "heavily" into vicodin...taking a lot...nearly..everyday..heh

so anyway my tolerance has gone WAY up and it really fucking sucks

2- 7.5mg's used to get me fucked...now i take 5...sometimes more.....

is there anyway to prevent my tolerance...or if i waited 1 day without taking it would it go down?

It'll be a while before you tolerance really goes down.

1 day isn't going to make a difference really.

vicodins suck...they are americas true gateway drug...get off em while you can.
there is a huge difference being dope sick from hydros, and being junk sick.

you're taking too much APAP.

my first reccomendation is to reduce you're overall intake. opiate addiction is not a good thing especially once you start moving to stronger opiates.

if you cant stop doing it (or atleast drop down to a couple times per month) then take my second reccomendation:

Start using a CWE to take all of the dangerous APAP out of your hydrocodone.

It takes alot longer than a day for tolerance to go down. A week you may notice a difference. But it can take months to get back to 0. I would say quit while you can since you are not actually taking a "heavy amount." If you are not getting bad withdrwals just quit cold turkey but you can also make a maintainence scheldule by taking enough per day to keep you out of withdrawal but not enough to relly get you high. The gradually reduce you dose over a like a month. the only way to really get your tolerance down is to quit for a while.

i'm going to do my last dose tomorrow since i have 2 gigs to play...and i LOVE being on this shit at shows....

today..i fucking took 10....all CWE of course....but wow...and i just got a decent buzz....NOTHING like the first time i took 2....its so gay....meh...i need to get off this shit...

i quit smoking pot and i guess this was my substitute...

i'm going to start smoking again at bonnaroo (june 12th)

and i've quit for 60 days today being the 60th....

last dose will be tomorrow...i have a show at 6-7:00 and another at 9:30-1:30...

what do you guys recommend i take tommorrow..how much and when

Ican take 7 Norcos - 70mg of hydrocodone - and not even feel it. It hardly dents the pain.

I can take 120mg of morphine andyou'd never know it.

It takes over 200mg of Oxy to get me even close to a nod.

It sure sucks.

Go to a spine doctor and try some type of alternatives like time released injected Novocaine and go into a medical rehab facility and get all that opiate shit out of your system. It isn't doing anything for you and you may just feel better if you get clean. And, don't say you need it for all the pain, don't have other options, or it wont work. You really should purge your system of the opiates for a year or so and give something else a chance. Even large doses of opiates can fuck with your nerves and make you experience severe pain. I'm betting you already know all this though. Do you see a pain management facility that specializes in the spine?

I dont bother with hydros anymore, they dont even help with my pain.

Get off the pain meds while you can. Full blown addiction is the worst thing in the world. I can't believe I went from a dose of around 120mgs of oxycodone a day down to nothing and stayed there without medical help.

I've been hardcore weightlifting for the rush nowadays. I need something pleasureable and extreme to keep myself happy it seems.

I can't imagine how you've yet to find a pain management doctor who understood your situation to prescribe something like fentanyl patches to you. You ever tried those for the pain? Do they help? From what I hear from people with monster tolerances and legitimate chronic pain like you have, fentanyl was a godsend for them in terms of analgesic benefit.

now for a noob in this to post. Yesterday was the first time ive ever taken any kind of pill. (im a smoker) I felt very slightly buzzed after 10 mg of oxycodone so i took 3 more. And 25mg of oxy got me pretty fucked up. Btw can taking 5,5/325 pills be harmful? The other stuff is just tylenol so cant be that bad right?

It can be bad in high doses, but not in the amount that you took. I usually take 2 g of acetaminophen for a headache.

Oh my Dr will give me the patches if I want them. But first of all they don't work that much better, and second they are bloody expensive as hell - I have no insurance and I make too much from SocSec to get help from Medicade [go figure, huh?].

They actually got generics now, but one of them, the Mylan version I believe, comes in an adhesive strip instead of a patch, with no gel, and people who use it even as directed seem to report lower efficiency from it. I've also heard this about Teva and Impax generic OxyContins (which is supposedly part of the reason Purdue Pharma got upset about their product being fucked with via anti-abuse gelling etc.)

Besides fentanyl, the only other high-powdered long-acting opiate I can think of would be Opana, and there's definitely no generics for that yet and I doubt oxymorphone is going to be cheap.

Doesn't seem unreasonable to me; there's still a lot of dosage room with the MS Contin. Hope it works out for you somehow, I can't imagine what it's like to live in constant pain while dealing with incompetent doctors. I used to get irritable enough just over them not understanding my anxiety...
