Digi-Vapor 102 - Not Working?
I got a Digi-Vapor 102 model in a head shop the other day, and tried to use it today, and could not get it to work. The issue wasn't smoking vs. steaming or any of the usual problems, but that the device didn't seem to heat up at all. I turned it all the way, and after 20 minutes it was barely warm.
My question is whether anyone has had experience with this model of vaporizer, whether they could get it to work, had similar problems, ways I could fix it, am I just fucked, etc.
http://digi-vapor.com/ says that the model "doesn't work and will never work." That seems pretty fucked up to me... have I just been scammed?
Thanks for the help.

Re: Digi-Vapor 102 - Not Working?
Those cheap wannabe box vaporizers suck. My friend has one like that and i have never even got a vapor hit. I bet you paid like 50-100$?You get what you pay fo. Head shops will over price them alot of the time. Just spend the extra money and get a nice one like a vapor brothers. Vapor bros will run you about 150-180 $ but they can actually acheive proper vaporization temp. Trust me they work way better. Those ones with the fake little digital screens and cool blue lights are what makes it look nice but they just suck.
http://www.vaporwarehouse.com/store/shop.php?p=vaporbrothers.html
$139.oo plus shipping
www.vaporwarehouse.com/store/shop.php?p=vbhandsfree.html
$159.oo plus shipping for hands free. These are the real deal, these are what all of the companies try to copy and i would say they set the standard and those cheap wannbes are at the bottom. Vapor bros are also high quality.
I do not use a box vape any more though, I use a vapor bong and heat gun. It is basically one of those big heat guns you can get at hardware stores. But For it to work better i use vaporbong pieces which are made by vriptech or www.vriptech.com I personally think it works even better than the boxvapes. The pieces cost 50$ and the heat gun is 10-120 depending on how much you want spend, how durable you want it to be, and how long you want it to last. The you can use a clean bong of your choice and make it fit with a seal of some sort. You do not use water in a vapor bong and if there was resin in the bong it would taste horrible.
Once again just spend the extra money on a nicer vape it will be worth it.
Also thos digital things are bullshit andpointless. They dont even read a temperature but the temp is represented by a number ehich is actually given to you in the instuctions. The little knob has always worked fine for me I would just turn it up and the way to heat up and then turn it down to 1-2 o'clock. im sure once you find the right setting it would be easy to turn it to it every time but I can do it just as easy with just a knob.

Unlucky.
Regardless of whether they sold it to you knowing that it sucked ass or not you should take it back.

Re: Digi-Vapor 102 - Not Working?
this was copy/pasted right off www.Digi-Vapor.com
Unfortunately quality control was not addressed when this vaporizer was designed. The Digi-Vapor Digital Vaporizer DOES NOT WORK.
The staff of GotVape.com used this vaporizer, over and over and tried everything to get it to work.
But alas, we were never able to produce vapor from the Digi-Vapor Digital Vaporizer.
Was it simply the Digi-Vapor Digital Vaporizer we tested over and over again wasn't working, maybe just a broken vaporizer.
So we tried a another brand new Digi-Vapor Digital Vaporizer and low and behold same results. No Vapor.
So no vapor and an awful taste most likely benzene, toluene and napthaline from the sub standard heating element used.

Re: Digi-Vapor 102 - Not Working?
nice post btw...very informative...but why not use water?
The whole point is to filter the the smoke with the water when using a regular bong and it(water) doesnt do a good job at that anyway. With a vapor bong you are not burning the weed so water filtration is completely unecessary. it would just be messy and probably not taste very good. you can just use a regular bowl piece with the heat gun but if the hole is small it will take a long time to fill up the bong to actually get a hit. that is why the vrip piece have atleast like 10mm size holes. The bigger the hole in the piece the faster you can actually fill up the bong with a hit.
I just used electrical tape to make the piece fit in my down stem and it works and seals fine.
Also a bong with a bubble at the bottom is unecessary a straight chamber works just fine for me. You don't need anything big just like a 12 in. straight chambered bong.
you may want to stay away from acrylic or plastic bongs because it does get pretty hot.
you want the heat gun to have a high and low setting. use it on the low setting.
and dont buy the cheapest heat gun becaus ei bought a 10 dollar one and it didnt even last long so just find one in the 30-100 dollar range and it will last much longer.
i started smoking pretty young and every winter i would get a bad smokers cough/bronchitis. Ever since I bought a vaporizer and started using that i have not got bronchitis or a smokers cough so it has worked for me very well.

Company must be run by a bunch of dumbass potheads. No self respecting company would release a product that does not work in any way.

I have not heard any good things about vapir vaporizers and that price is rediculus. box vaporizers work much better but they are not as portable.
